need a good chin strap
I mouth breath and was thinking of trying a chin strap, can anyone reccomend one? I tried taping and I just do not like it, so I need an alternative.
I wake up in the morning and my mouth is very dry and my leak numbers are high, like .9 and up.

Well, I personally use and like very much the https://www.cpap.com/productpage/topaz- ... strap.html found at this location. It stays put and doesn't slid around OR off!sleepyhead63 wrote:I mouth breath and was thinking of trying a chin strap, can anyone reccomend one? I use a strap made from Ace Bandage. I cut a piece from a roll and sewed the ends together. It goes under my lower jaw. You need to be careful of the ones that is made to wear on the chin. Sometimes they will pull the lower jaw back and make an obstruction worse.
Oh, I put my strap on first, then my headgear. That helps it stay in place.

what is polygrip strips? I don't like the idea of taping because my skin is so sensitive. I am thinking chin straps is not the way to go either, I just can not imagine wearing a chin strap and headgear together. So I guess it doesn't leave me with many options.
My therapy is going fairly good but I know it would go alot better if I had this mouth breathing under control. I tried a ff mask (ultra mirage) but I could never get a good seal, also it would make these weird sounds like a trumpet where the mask would leak around my face. Someone mentioned putting nylon tape around the elbows but that did not work either.

I have been using the Tiara Ruby (stretchy but non-adjustable) but it's not quite doing the job. The sleep tech had me try the Tiara Topaz adjustable yesterday and that seemed to really hold my jaw up.
He did note that I shouldn't wear the chin strap when I'm using a FF mask - only the nasal mask.

I bought a $1.50 pair of queen sized panty hose at Walmart and cut the waisteband part off leaving about 2 inches of material attached. I put this on my head stretched from chin to crown - the band toward the back of my head, the "normal" material part toward the front.
I pull the material under the face straps of my swift II, and over the interface. The material under the straps seems to cut down a slight bit on the marks left in the morning, and covering the exhaust vents diffuses the exhaust so that I don't feel cold air blowing on my arm (I sometimes put my arm under my pillow) or chest if I have my head pointed in that direction.
This strap seems gives *just* enough force to keep my mouth and lips together. I can easily talk, yawn, whatever.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
I use velstretch straps from Lowe's or Home Depot. Have used them as is and sometimes I cut them and sew to my mask headgear. Am currently using a Bravo and a short length of a velstretch strap from one side of the headgear to the other fits perfectly and does the job. Though I think 20 months of chin straps etc have trained me to keep my lips closed. The strap is currently very loose and I leave it on simply because I'm used to it-it may function as a "reminder" during sleep.
These relatively lightweight chin straps seem to work better for people whose lips part when they relax. Confirmed mouth breathers have less success--and need more.
