Got the Soyola

Post by Lee Lee » Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:42 pm

A very nice board member sold me his Soyola mask. It didn't come with a manual and I hate to admit it, but I'm a manual junkie. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
I can't figure out how to adjust it. I tried it last night, and while it didn't hurt my nose, it did leak.
Also, I don't feel any air comming out the exhaust like I do with all my other masks, which scares me a little. (OK, maybe a tiny bit of air.)
Can anyone tell me how to adjust it? I like it, and want it to work.
Lee Ann

that mask is referred to as the Yara in Germany, here is the manual in PDF format, it is about 3.0mb so if you are on a modem it can take a while:

It's the nasal version.
Snoredog, thanks for the manual. It seems to be the full face version in the pictures.
Does the nasal one work the same?

Thankas again Snoredog, that's it.
Just trying to wrap my mind around the "slots" for adjustment. It was leaking around my eyes. Now perhaps I can fix it.
I love how light and small this mask is!

I don't have the Soyola, but I've heard it diffuses the air better than a lot of other masks. This could explain why the exhaust air doesn't seem as much to you. I notice you also have the Activa, which doesn't diffuse the air as well, I'm sure. I sometimes allow the air to blow on me, kind of like a mini AC unit, lol. Let us know how things go with the Soyola. Most who have tried it seem to be very favorable.

I hope the Soyala works well for you! I had it during my sleep study and thought it was much better than any of the other nasal masks they had me try. Nice and quiet, too.

All nasal masks cause me some facial pain, so I only use pillows types masks. They didn't have any at the sleep clinic, though.
