Aura returns
Aura returns
I want to return my Aura, but I can't get in touch with anyone.
Has anyone else tried to get in touch with CPAPSuperstore lately? According to their web page, they were on vacation until the 14th. I was under the impression, though, that someone was still in the office to process intermet orders. I've been trying to call them, but no one answers the phone. I've left messages, but no one has called back.

The owner just got back. This is a small operation and is very customer friendly. It might be hard to get intouch with them and they are a little behind on some emails. You will have no problems on returning the aura and best of all no restocking fee

Why all the "guest" posts regarding the CPAPsuperstore? Is some insider advertising the CPAPsuperstore hours on the cpaptalk (cpap.com) forum?
If not, it sure looks that way. Slimmy tactics like this don't make me inclined to shop there.

I understand your suspicions, Wader, but in this case I don't think it's slimey tactics at work. I think it's a genuine concern about whether cpapsuperstore is indeed "satisfaction guaranteeing" the Aura and taking back any that the customers don't want after they buy it and try it.
It's a fact that that particular store is offering the Aura for sale with a full refund if the buyer sends it back after trying it. A wonderful thing to do for patients, imho.
That's quite unique in the way a mask is being sold by at least one online store. I don't think that store does it on other masks, but they're doing it with the Aura thanks to an agreement Aeiomed made with that store.
I have no problem with people posting as "Guest". I never have posted under anything except my usual nickname (and luckily have not been "guested" yet! ) but it doesn't bother me that others might choose to post as "Guest" as long as they are genuine posts - which these looked like to me.

The suspicious part, though, is the percentages. Yes, we get some guest posters, but generally perhaps 10% of the messages on any topic are from a guest.
In this case, there have been 5 or 6 posts regarding the supposed return policy at that other on-line provider, and not ONE of them has been from a known user.
Possible? Surely. But suspicious? Certainly.
It's like the other guy, the one from TX, who persisted in starting threads to advertise his product, and then when called on it, switched tactics to "apologize, always with a little more information about the product in the apology", and then (at least apparently) to "Pretend to be someone else and write a glowing testimonial about his product".
It's always POSSIBLE that it's on the up and up. But when there are that many pro posts on some topic, all of which from no one we've ever heard of, it's kind of hard to believe that something so great that it inspires that many comments has yet to be experienced by ANYONE whom we know has experienced quite a lot with regard to CPAP.
Liam, who's with Wader on this one.

I wasn't suspicious of the Texas poster either. I think it's very possible to come to this site and not be aware that it is sponsored by the online store...cpap.com. When a person has come up with something they think is good, I can certainly see why they would want to bring it up on an active apnea message board.
In the case of a Guest asking a legit question about not getting an answer on a phone call to a store that has been mentioned on here as selling the Aura with a refund policy, and another guest answering it, I see nothing odd about that. The first Guest certainly wasn't posting anything flattering about a company that is not responding by phone. Second guest explained why that probably happened.
Cpap.com is my favorite online store to shop at. I like the service, the phone support, and the prices. However, if I were buying an Aura, I'd look at the store that lets you return it if unhappy with it. I'm saying what I think under my own nickname, but I can certainly understand if other people who go "to that other store" to buy the Aura might not want to post under their regular nickname here...on a message board owned by a competing store.
Doesn't seem like that much of a mystery to me.

Rested Gal,
You certainly are an honest lady, oops an honest personhood.
It really is a pleasure to read your posts. You have good character and your posts manifest your character.

LOL, Andy! I'm too laid back and easy going to take offense at much of anything. No worries...I understood you were delivering a compliment and were not issuing an endorsement of what I said..
I appreciate your willingness to stand up for what you think, too, Andy. That's one of the strengths of this board. People post what they think whether it's under a regular nickname or as a Guest. Usually with courtesy and good humor even if it's a matter they feel strongly about. I do appreciate the admins giving us all a loose leash.

RG,
FYI, there is a "guest" on TAS that is referencing this forum and misrepresenting the success of the aura.
Very suspicious!

What a coincidence, all these anti-aura "guest" posts.guest on TAS wrote:I think it looks like less than half of the posters actually liked the aura after they got it.

As of April 2006, cpapsuperstore no longer has the return on the mask. Aeiomed had no choice but to discontinue it. This was due to different suppliers stating to Aeiomed that Resmed had forced their hand and if they did not stop accepting returns then Resmed would pull their line from them. This is what I was told, I am not reporting it as fact, but it is a fact that you can no longer return your Aura / Everest Headrest to cpapsuperstore. Just thought I would share my recent experiences.
Thanks,
Phil
