so what does this mean?
I've noticed a couple nights now i've woke up with a falling sensation and last night I woke up and would have sworn I was drowning? Almost like a nightmare? But I'm sure it has some kind of meaning to those of you that have been through it allready. It seems to hit just as I feel like I'm ready to fall off into a deep sleep. Its like I'm dozing off and then I just jump to stop myself from falling or drowning. Boy this sleep thing is getting wierd now My body tends to tense right up when this happens. any ideas? I was thinking anxiety?

Interesting. Don't know what that could be, but it is interesting.
Do you think you might be actually starting to dream then? Some people describe having vivid dreams once starting their treatment. And I know many dreams have to do with falling or something similar.
But odd you should mention this, for a just a couple of times real recently, I've had an odd sensation before dosing off too. Sort of like a dizziness, of fainting, slightly. A touch of vertigo, but I was in bed lying down with my mask on. I shrugged it off to not having enough sleep lately. Don't know. Now you've got me wondering.

Even before I started treatment, I've had this sensation of falling off of the bed....wake up with my arms out as if to catch myself. Weird isn't it. I haven't hasd this once since starting cpap.

unbalanced
I have had problems holding my balance, like vertigo (but this is when I am awake) and only since I started with my cpap. It's a weird feeling.
As for dreaming. I have ALWAYS been a dreamer. I dream all the time, always have. I guess this is uncommon with undiagnosed OSA?

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to sleep I go......
In order to dream, you have to go into a deep sleep. Osa prevents that usually. I have been dreaming a lot more since I adopted a machine. In fact, if I don't dream i'll usually see why the next day in my computer readouts. Higher AHI.
