Hi
No question here, I just want to report the success I am having since switching over to the Optilife mask a few months back.
Masks I have used before - such as the ComfortLite and Nasalaire - were terrible for leaks. That caused me all sorts of grief. So when I was told about the Optilife by my supplier, I jumped on it because I was told it was a pretty effective mask against air leaks. And I toss and turn quite a bit through the night and am a side-sleeper, so I needed a solid mask to cope with that.
A few months later, I am happy to say the Optilife has been excellent. I have minimal leaks with it and I think that's very much due to the elastic straps. If the nose-piece does shift during the night because I am shifting and moving around, the straps do a great job in allowing the nose-piece to settle back into position with minimal manual intervention. That would never happen with the ComfortLite. The parts of the Optilife that fit into the nostrils - sorry, I don't know their proper title - are a much better shape as well now to stop air leaks. The fit into the nose, once you have worked out the best size, is excellent.
The simple design of the whole mask is a bonus. It's very light and comfortable I find. Easy to put on and take off. A further advantage, is it's quietness. I found the ComfortLite to be really annoyingly loud. The Optilife is much, much quieter. Probably the quietest mask I have ever tried.
Anyway, as you've probably guessed, I am extremely happy with this mask.
My results?
Leak-Rate - 26.9
AHI - 0.9.
If you are having trouble with your mask - such as noise, fit, leaks etc - I recommend giving the Optilife a go.
No, this isn't a paid endorsement! I just have many years of experience with apnea and have spent thousands on different equipment. So when I have a positive experience with a product I've tried, I like to share it with my fellow apnea sufferes in case someone else can benefit.
Many thanks.

Congratulations! I tried and didn't succeed with the Optilife myself, but I'm happy it worked for you!
I know when I was diagnosed and received my machine, I didn't realize that was just part of the battle - that I still had to find a suitable mask.
Now, buy up all the Optilife masks you can get before they decide to quit making them on you!
