My thoughts on ResMed Liberty after 2 nights useage....

Post by elazarus » Sun Jul 08, 2007 8:30 am

On Friday I bought a ResMed Liberty Hybrid as a possibility to eliminate mouth breathing when using the Nasal mask or Pillows.

After 2 nights I find that I am using up ALL the water in the M series humidifier...waking up more tired and spacey. This mask comes with all the pillows and they fit just fine, but for some reason it is not working for me.

I guess it is time for a Full Face mask.

If anyone wants a 2 day old Liberty for $100 (less than half price) shipped ( I bought it from a DME here in Austin) please let me know......

Thank you

Elliot

I'm currently using the ComfortFull2 with tissue stuffed under the seal on either side of my chin to achieve a seal. Needless to say, I'm trying to find a comfortable FF mask that fits. After your posting I don't think the Liberty would work for me either. Please post your thoughts on FF masks you try. It's very helpful!

Hi....

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat as me.

When I picked up the Liberty on Friday, I tried on the Mirage Quattro. I was comfortable with the Swift 1 and Swift 2 so I thought the Hybrid may work.

Now it is Full Mask time and today I am going to order the Mirage Quattro.

For whatever crazy reason, I seem to have more luck, but not enough, with ResMed masks over Resprionics.

Also, last night I decided that my Remstar Auto M series is just too noisy and at the right time this month when to want to switch it for my full time machine I will look to get (insurance can pay theirpart and I will cash up the difference) to get a Resmed A-Flex (sorry for the Resprionics term but I forgot the ResMed name).

This is not easy.

Elliot

I emailed my DME and asked if I could get it too. By the way, did you read this discussion on the Quattro?

See Rested Gal's posting for the link to an online discussion on the Quattro.

My experience with Respironics/ResMed

Respironics: ComfortGel Small and Petite. My first mask. Lots of condensation in the mask. Poor fit with small being too big pressing on my eyes and petite too small being too narrow in width. Exhaust somewhat noisy.

Respironics: ComfortFull2 Medium and Small. Medium had major leaks on either side of my chin. Small didn't provide enough room for mouth to open comfortably and also leaked in same place. (Contour of mask wrong and not pliable enough to seal.)

ResMed: Mirage SwiftII - the nasal pillows aren't ideal for me but the most problematic was the tube running up the side preventing comfortable sleep on that side. I could customize. Had a high leakage number on the report. Noisy exhaust.

ResMed: Mirage Vista - love this nasal mask! It's great for side sleeping and works great as long as my nose isn't too stuffy.

Out of six masks, I have one that gets good numbers and is comfortable to wear all night.

I absolutely love my Respironics A-Flex. Very quiet and superb with alleviating exhaust pressure. So glad I have this machine! I didn't know ResMed made one that does this also. Hope it works out as well for you as mine has for me : )

You've got that right! It's good we are all here helping each other through this most wondrous trek.

ResMed does not feature Aflex. ResMed has similar version of feature called EPR (however, EPR is not available in APAP mode ... only in CPAP mode).

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
