Aura (like Breeze) makes you bald ???
Hi,
I have been using Breeze interface with large pillows and loving it. It is very comfortable and I have minimum leaks with it. However, I am going bald on the crown of my head with Breeze's headgear
I am just wondering if Aura's headgear has the same affect? I know that it's a new product, but I would like to hear from those who are using it.
I am also wondering if using a hair holder would help at all. Let me say that I have found this forum to be the best product of the computer age.
Best Wishes to you all.

Well, when mine started going seriously, it was suggested that I try Rogaine, but I went a different route and just stocked up on turtle wax.Anonymous wrote:The only thing I can think of is Miracle Grow It is not a mask, but if you want your hair to "grow" and you believe in "Miracles", it might work !!!
If I gotta be bald, at least I can blind people who stare too much.
However, it's interesting that you suggest that your aura may be making you bald. I'll have to go talk to one of those faith healers who read people's auras and see if he/she can "fix" mind so my hair grows back. I've already tried staying in out of the breeze, since that came up, and no help yet.
Liam, recycling a line from one of his essays.
That was one of the things I disliked about the Breeze, was the breaking of my hair down the midline.
I think using a mesh cap like those sold on several sites that can be used with some of the other masks would be great and would eliminate the hair problem, or maybe just wearing one underneath regular headgear.
Any others have an input on this?

Janelle,
That's a good point. I will give it a try before I go completely bald
Is this what you are refering to for the cap? :

You just made a light bulb go on over my head. Remebering back to my competitive swimming days, we would wear those strechy latex swimming caps. They make them very light and thin now (even in colors and patterns). I seems, I read that many nasal pillow users with "thinning" hair have trouble keeping the headgear stable. These caps might be just the thing to provide a "sticky" surface for the headgear to hold on to. You could trim up the cap or cut vent holes if you want. It may be uncomfortable for sleeping, I don't know, but they are cheap, so it would not be a big risk to try it out. If anyone does, please post you results.
Sincerely,

Thinning hair on an apneic is pretty ironic, considering that as a group, that's perhaps the only thing that's particularly "thin".wading thru the muck! wrote:I seems, I read that many nasal pillow users with "thinning" hair have trouble keeping the headgear stable.
Liam, hefty boy.
This is the page where I ordered my cap. It covers more of the entire head, instead of just the back like the one you linked to. I ordered the white lace one, since I think that type would provide more air flow than some of the others.

Funny Wader!!!!!!!!!!
You know, these masks do look like they make sense. I might go more for one of the snoopy style WWI flying caps myself.
