Howdy,
I was discussing some Apnea stuff with my father (he has it too) and he mentioned recently hearing a radio spot for a CPAP mask alternative. It is the unit at nomask.com which is basically a boil and bite plate that holds nasal pillows on your nose.
It is an interesting design and I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with it? It looks like a potentially good solution for my mother who still has some clastrophobia issues that impact her mask usage. It also looked like an interesting solution for me. I have come to realize I have an enormous head and finding headgear that works is very difficult.
I have been doing ok with the Activa headgear and that mask, but I am always looking for a better solution. I tried the Hybrid but unfortunately while the design looked great the largest headgear was still not big enough pretty much rendering the mask unusable for me.
The thing that intrigues me the most about the nomask.com unit is the idea of it attaching to your teeth. One other issue that has been bothering me is that even with the loose activa mask, I get pressure on my upper lip and feel like my teeth are moving a bit and that I am slowly developing an underbite. I was actually planning to get off my lazy butt and hit the dentist to see about a retainer to halt/prevent that issue.
I do hesitate to spend that much on an unknown mask style without more feedback from other cpaper's. So any info you have would be handy! Thanks!
Will

Thanks for all the great info! I hadn't though to search for "cpappro" all as one word. Searching on the words separate was pretty fruitless. lol.
People creating products should try to keep in mind that the name they choose can make it difficult to search on. hehe.
I am a bit sad to hear it is generally considered a bit on the fragile side. I have broken my share of headgear and at $179 I think I will have to pass on this one for now. I do like the concept of it though and hope it develops more over time.

There is no headgear with the "No Mask". That's why I love it.WillCunningham wrote:Thanks for all the great info! I hadn't though to search for "cpappro" all as one word. Searching on the words separate was pretty fruitless. lol.
