How does Adams circuit compare with new Breeze
Having been a Breeze user for about 6 months I keep looking at the Adams circuit mask and thinking that his looks more comfortable.
Although I am a side sleeper its sometimes nice to roll onto my back, but the spine on the Breeze is uncomfortable and leaks.
Have any of the Breeze users switched to the Adams circuit?

As someone who bought a breeze, had trouble with the spline, then was given an Adams Circuit, I thought all my Christmasses had come at once.
The Adams Circuit I 1st had appeared to be a prototype as it differed from the one we can buy today. It had a swivel joint at the nose piece which made it so much more flexible as I move around in bed.
When buying an Adams Circuit mask, you have to assemble it yourself and I was able to re-engineer it to match my preferred setup.
Someone posted some info on Adams Circuit masks just a couple of weeks back so a search of this site should bring that thread up as it had links to diagrams of the adams circuit mask.
Good luck.

The Adams circuit is the first nasal pillow interface I ever tried. It is also the oldest one out there, and in this case age does not equate to quality. It was the most horrendous thing I have ever put on my face. Within ten minutes of trying it on, my nose was bleeding all over the place. You can't adjust it in nearly as many ways as you can with the newer interfaces, so if your face doesn't exactly fit the way it's made, you're out of luck.
Search for information on it with the search function. You'll find many threads asking about it. Most hate it, while only one or two like it. Try modifying your Breeze, or, if that doesn't work, try a more popular nasal pillows interface, like the Aura. You're less likely to just be throwing your money away, IMO.

CollegeGirl,
Re your Adams Circuit. Am guessing that the lack of rotational movement in the nasal unit was what caused your problems, possibly combined with the angle they approach the nose at as well. I see later designs attempt to allow adjustments here rather than take the fixed angle approach of the early masks.
When trying the normal model of the Adams Circuit, I found the angle just too great where the pillows fit under my nose & thus removed the angle piece that fits there. (on a CL2 I increase the angle with fishing line). In place of the angle piece, I put a swivel coupling so that the result was a lesser angle into my nose and sideways give from the swivel as I moved.
But there has always been one aspect of the mask that has been annoying ant that is the hard pads in the headband where the side straps from the nose assembly, velcro themselves to the headband. These can be irritating if they press into the side of ones head.

I have tried various modifications on my Breeze, even fitted CL2 headgear, but they all slide up. The spine does stop that.
My thought was to use the good bits of the Breeze (the nasal interface) with the good bits of the Adams circuit (the straps).
Apart from the spine I find the Breeze comfortable.
Dreamstalkers Breeze does not ride up because he has a pony tail which holds it down.

I have logged several hundred hours on an Adams Circuit. For my money, both the CL2 and the Aura are big improvements of this "old" design.

I have been considering trying out the AC also. It looks like you would have the same problem with the headgear riding up on the back of your head too.
My interest lies in the shell as it appears that it has more surface area placed against the upper lip and therefore possibly more comfortable than the shell for the Breeze.
Anyway, I too have similar ideas for combining parts from both Breeze and AC interfaces.

Cool mod Billy!
How are you attatching the lower headgear straps to the Breeze shell?
I hope it works ... keep us posted. I'll post up my experience with the AC once I have had a chance to play around with it.

Adams circuit??
What is Adams circuit?
Is it by any chance the Puritan Bennett ADAM, as far as I know the (original nasal pillows).

Yes Adams Circuit is the original Pb nasal pillows mask.
It appears to have gone through two pahes of development. I managed to get my hands on an earlier model
- has a one piece 6' hose & a swivel at the nose piece inplace of the newer model's angle piece.
The new model
- has a 12 in hose into which you can connect a 6' hose (there is a swivel at this joint
- has an angle piece added but no swivel in the nose area.
The new model isn't as usable to be unless I remove the angle piece - while that is in place the pillows are too steeply inclined for comfort for my face.
Someone posted a diagram of the Adams Circuit here a couple of weeks back but I can't locate it.
The consensus from most folk is that the new model isn't all that desirable. (I tend to agree)

The ADAM Circuit (sounds as if I had the newer model) was such a vast improvement for me over the Swift, that I wish I had one as a backup! I only had mine as a loaner for a few weeks.
I liked the design for cleaning and it fit me fine. I am the self-designated "Queen of Nosebleeds" and I had no problem with that. I'm surprised and sorry that you did, College Girl.
What I did NOT like is the headgear. It slipped and slid (but les than the Swift headgear).
I wondered if the ComfortLite 2 headgear would work....
