Aura Rubber Band Pictures: WERE GONE BUT NOW THEY ARE BACK!!

Post by thomzeyl » Sun Oct 22, 2006 11:07 am

Hello All

I've been using the Mirage Swift mask for a year and have ordered a new Aura Everest NP mask (now re-renamed, I hear). I've been reading about the great Rubber Band fix, but the pictures have been stolen! Check out the Dec/05 post by jcarn
Does anyone have them to repost or send to me?

Thanks!

EDIT Oct. 23,2006 The pics have been restored!!!!!!!!! (That was quick!)

Yes, the "Aura" has a new name now that Invacare has taken over the marketing of that mask for Aeiomed.

First it was Aeiomed's Aura.

Then it was Aeiomed's Headrest.

Now it is the Invacare Twilight NP

"NP" for "nasal pillows", 'cause Invacare has another regular nasal mask -- a traditional mask that covers the nose -- named just the "Twilight." Don't confuse their nasal mask with the Twilight NP, our good old "Aura."

P.S. Aeiomed's neat little battery option CPAP machine also got renamed by Invacare. The "Everest" machine is now the Invacare Polaris TR.

The pictures that are posted above are for the older version of the Aura/Everest. The newer version does not have the protrusions on the side of the headgear on which to anchor the rubber band.

The original rubber band thread still has pictures of how to attach the bands to the newer model (on page 2):

pharmwoman,
The Aura has 2 sizes of pillows--M & L. Mine came with both sizes, and I just looked on CPAP.com and they show that it comes with both sizes (don't know if you'd get both from a DME). I don't have a big nose, but the L seemed to be more comfortable to me and seal better so that's what I use.
The headgear comes in only one size. For those of us with smaller heads, we have to rig the headgear in some way. I just folded up some of the length of the lower strap and pinned it to make it shorter. Was going to cut off the extra length and restitch it but somehow just never got around to it--it's been a year now.
Hope that helps.

pharmwoman,
Pinning is not very glamorous, but it is quick, easy and gets the job done.
Hope the Aura works well for you. It is by far the best I have tried so far.
