Post by rested gal » Wed Oct 11, 2006 3:41 pm

The Aeiomed "Headrest" (Aura) mask has a new name - Twilight NP

Aeiomed's machine and mask are now marketed by Invacare.

Invacare Polaris TR is the name of Aeiomed's former "Everest" (Aura) cpap machine with battery option.

Invacare Twilight NP is the new name of Aeiomed's nasal pillows mask, formerly called "Headrest" (Aura.)

Rested Gal,

Oh, for pete's sake, will they quit changing the name already? My DME (Apria) already has no idea what this interface is because it costs them more than 30 cents to buy.

Thanks for the heads up, RG.

Aren't the DME'S funny? Mine claims never to have heard of the hybrid mask, the Breathex, Aura (even by its oldest name) a year ago they claimed never to have heard of Sleepnet masks and they are made in the same town. Its just amazing to me that an outfit that claims to be the only DME in my state accepted by my insurance (not true) can't take the time to be up on whats up in sleep medicine.

And they wonder why we got all my daughter's resp stuff (vent, hunidifyer, cough assist, suction, o2, etc etc) from a different company.

HA

What is the record for a mask/interface being called different names? If we owned stock in the slash market, we would all be rich: Aeiomed Headrest/Aura/Twilight.

Actually, twilight makes me think of the medical "twilight" state, induced by an anesthesiologist and usually not the MOST desirable state--but beats being aware of the procedure going on!
