Hybrid Update

Post by Snoozin' Bluezzz » Wed Jul 19, 2006 6:50 am

I just completed day 8 on the Hybrid. At my sweet spot pressure of 9cm H2O I had the following:

AI = 0
HI = 0

and the leak rate fell to 40 which was 10 less than any night before. I also slept straight through for 8 hours which is a first for 10-12 weeks. I'm flipping back off Auto and back to 9cm H2O whiich is where I had the Swift. I went on Auto to see if there was any shift in the sweet spot. None.

I am using it exactly per directions - with chin flap/cup, large pillows on the "short" ring, large cushion, hose not hung, humidity on 2, C-Flex on 2.

Subjectively I feel better than I have in days, even weeks.

For me, this interface is a "keeper", probably my regular.

I put it on last night, no tinkering, and went right to sleep waking up 8 hours later.

David

Only go straight, don't know.

So glad to hear that this Hybrid is working out for you!

Two weeks and I continue to sleep through the night, enjoy my lowest ever numbers and I'm feeling great!
Like you, Snoozin Bluezzz, I am also using mine in the standard fashion. (Thankfully, no adjustments needed!)

I've been using mine for about 2 weeks now. I have cut the flaps off of
both the large and medium. I use the medium with the large pillows, in the 'tall' position, most of the time.

Every time I try to go back to my older mask, CL2, I feel like I'm just not getting enough air. I probably need to get a large pillow assembly for the CL2. However, the medium fits well, and I'm afraid the spacing on the large might be too much for me.

I have to following, unused parts, I would like to trade for CL2 large pillows large direct seal assembly, or whatever:

__ 1 - CL2 small nasal pillow assembly.

__ 1 - CL2 small direct seal assembly.

__ 1 - Hybrid small mouthpiece seal.

__ 1 - Hybrid small pillow set.

Pleasant dreams,
JRS

I was tempted, but see no reason to start chopping my small cushion. I am glad I didn't mess with it because this mask is working for me and I'm worse than Rested Girl and Minerva combined when it comes to getting a mask to work for me.
I have had one of the best weeks of sleep I have ever experienced with this thing. I just seem to breathe better at night for some reason and my leak rate is so low that it's a miracle. Let's hope I can say that in a month or two, but why jinx it.

DianeGuest,
PM me if you want to trade either your medium or large mouthpiece for a new, unused small one + small pillows. I'll even cut off the flap, if you want..

Diane -- I'm glad to hear it's working for ya. I was really intrigued by the design of the Hybrid and bummed that it didn't work for me -- it appears to be working out to be a good new alternative for many users, which is all we could hope for. More choices is always better! -- Min

Snoozin' Bluezzz,
Were you using a chin strap with the Swift before? I have seen that the Hybrid lowers the pressure 1-2 cm only for users who were using a chin strap with the nasal mask or nasal pillow interface or those who were using FF masks.
