Hybrid question

Post by Guest2 » Wed Jul 12, 2006 6:04 am

I've been wearing a Hybrid for 6 nights now and although it's been pretty good all the way around for me, I seem to have to tighten the bottom straps too tightly and seem to be getting a red spot from the strap on my right side where I mostly sleep. I toss and turn wile falling aleep but usally end up on my right side for most of the night. I find that the small size pillows fit the best and are snug without having to over tighten the straps. I don't tighten the bottom to the point of being uncomfortable, but it needs to be good and tight to put up with all my movement. Problem is, good and tight is starting to leave a mark. I know some people are saying it doesnt need to be too tight and thats true for me on the top.
The mask is comfortable, I'm not saying it isn't, and the leaks are seldom and few. All my FF's leave marks. I guess I'm just hard to fit. Part of the problem is that I'm overcoming the chin flap that I could do without. Has anyone tried to cut theirs off? I'm afraid. This should have been addressed in the videos.

Have you tried PAC? That's Pad-A-Cheek, its designed to fix your problem.

Oldgearhead, can we buy these cushions yet? Tracy said she was going to have them and I see she's taking orders for Hybrid.
If I can't buy what I need, I guess I'll be swopping. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to trim the cushion to fit perfect and not have to worry about being without a mask if we screw up? That's what I'm worried about. I want to trim my small cushion but if I spring a leak from it I would flip out!

Guest2, My RT trimmed the chin flap off for a patient recently who had like a double chin. She said that it sealed fine even after that. I know this because this patient was a difficult patient and I'm happy something finally worked for him. You might want to call technical support number listed on the hybrid.com website and confirm to be sure.

DME, I know, I will call , to be sure, but it sure would be nice to have another cushion just in case I start to spring a leak. I have ruined many a good mask with my homemade fixes. lol
When someone asks me now on the forums what mask I wear I want to say the ----( )---- and be like Prince. I'm going to try to ad it to my signature if I stick with this one.

ROTFL!! Me, too!!

But ain't it fun when a fix works to turn an unusable mask into a good'un.

That's cool that you registered, new2! Welcome to lab rat heaven.
