ComfortliteII pillow inverted last night...

Post by dllfo » Fri Jul 07, 2006 10:27 am

OK..got the "new mask" in, thought I would like to try it. I would still like to try it but the wife liked it so well...it is her new mask.

One of the pillows inverted, so she took it off, fixed it and used it all night. Overall she slept longer last night than she has in many years.

Why would the pillow invert? Is there a "cure"?

Thanks..oh...she slept almost 9 hours. I was amazed and she feels great, so overall the comfortlite II wins this head-to-head with the Swift. Guess I will have to find another one for sale on here...we are buying these, not our insurance.

One night I wasn't real careful when I got ready for bed, over tired I guess. Any way I put the pillows into my nose a little rushed and had a what I would say was a dimple in the right pillow. About an hour later I woke up and took the head gear off and popped the inverted pillow back out. Maybe that is what happed to your wife?

Yes I can invert the pillows on my CL2, Adam Circuit, and Hybrid. Just push in the the center with your finger. Of course it's a bit harder to do with your nose, but it is possible. With the CL2, the hardest thing to repair is the little stainless steel support on the bottom of the pillow. I have mangled this bracket, in my sleep, by rolling on it, more than once...

My Pillow Inverted, Too

Post by birdshell » Fri Jul 07, 2006 9:30 pm

Two nights ago I had a hard time getting my CL 2 to stay sealed. The next morning I found one of the pillows inverted.

The same thing, with the same nasal pillow, happened last night. I wonder if there is something about the nasal pillow itself? Or is it something I do during sleep, of which I am unaware?

It also occured to me that the nasal pillows may be too large, but I did not have the next size down to try out.

She used the mid size, which fits her best. Inverted or not, I am real excited about how long she slept and how good she felt this morning.

She tried the other "piece"....the nose "mask" thing. She said it made her nose feel hot. THAT is a new one to me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Nasal pillows, direct seal, or simple seal

Post by birdshell » Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:57 pm

I have not tried the simple seal (nose mask). I would like to get one to test, though.

Last night I went back to my direct seal...Believe it or not, that may just be my best option. It is just a bit firmer in the nostril area, and the nasal pillows have a fold that touches my nares and makes them itch. Direct seal avoids the extra contact.

This is very interesting, since I have the size 4 direct seal. The size 3 was supposed to be my size, but the DME provider was out of the 3.

I also have the medium and large nasal pillows. The large are just too much, so I've been using the medium and the right one has been folding into itself, causing a whistle due to the poor seal.

Thus, I guess I'm a size 4 direct seal girl. .

Hello, I've just digged up this old thread. I've been using Breeze tempted to get a ComfortLite 2, but what size should I get? SM or ML? I'm currently using the medium nasal pillows for Breeze.

Your advice would be much appreciated.

There are size charts you can print out at home for this Respironics mask. http://comfortlite2.respironics.com/RightfitCL2.asp
