I posted this under the thread about Help for Research on the Tridens fix for the Swift hose. But since it may go unread by many who read that original thread with the photos of my daughter modeling the headgear in the ingenious way Tridens came up with, I thought it would only be fair to her to put this thread on its own.
When I asked my daughter, who is almost 13, to model the headgear so I could post some photos on the site to help others understand what Tridens had come up with, to say she was elated over making her photographic debut on a public web site wearing headgear and a nasal pillow interface would be a bit of an exaggeration. But because of the sweet and generous nature she has (she hasn't hit her teenage years yet), she agreed for the good of everyone else to do it.
I decided to "redeem" her by posting a real photo of her where, as I mentioned, she doesn't look like a pug. She didn't like the pushed-in nose look or the way she came out looking wearing the Swift. So I gave her a chance to pick a photo of herself and told her I would post it on this site so everyone can see that she doesn't really look like "that." Below is that photo. I can now tell her that I have redeemed her reputation. Thanks for indulging me in yet another non-CPAP related topic, although it really is related indirectly when you think of why this whole thing came about in the first place.

Thanks, Josie! I am proud of her beautiful soul and enormous heart. She is a great girl and I am very blessed to have her in my life. She was my miracle child conceived on birth control. She decided she had to be in my life whether asked for or not. The best gift God could have given me. He knew what I needed whether I did or not.
I will tell her what you said. Thank you very much.

Barb, Amy and Ms. Piggy,
Thanks for the sweet words. And, yes, Amy, she is only 12. Will be 13 next month. Don't think it doesn't worry us. She is already just under 5'7", all of 103 lbs. and looks like she's at least 15, 16. With her hair down and makeup on, OMG, it is frightening. But, then again, when I was her age, I looked older like that, too. By the time I was 15, I could pass easily for 18 (got me into all the clubs at an early age-bad girl that I was). Now that I'm older, I want to be mistaken for a younger woman. ARE WE EVER HAPPY????

Lori,
You two look like sisters. Both lovely inside and out. Thanks for all the help and encouragement you provide.
Esther
I missed the other pix when they were originally posted so I tried just now but they won't show on my computer--just a little red X. I can see this one but not the swift pictures. Not urgent since I don't have a swift.

Aw, Esther, thank you!!! I only wish we really looked like sisters. Perhaps there is a mother/daughter RESEMBLENCE. You are so sweet, too, to say the kind things you did. Thank you so much. By the way, the photos are still there if you scroll down. There were other pics that got taken off the site due to my removing them from the server by accident, but they were just of the equipment. Morgan's photos wearing the headgear are still there, huge as they are!!!
Jerry,
LOL!!! We only keep her out there when she's bad (jk). Actually, she chose the roof herself, but you had me literally laughing out loud with that comment. Thanks! She is now in her room.
Rod,
What a wonderful comment about her. She will be thrilled to hear what you had to say, I'm sure. She didn't surprise me when she agreed to put herself on the site to help others see what Tridens was talking about. I was truly blessed with not only one great kid, but three. Thank you for the sweet sentiment.

Lori,
You were right, they were there all the time--I just didn't go far enough
What a trouper she is. Thank her for all of us.
She's got a great example in you to develop her willingness to help others.

Maybe I'll get the hang of this posting business sooner or later.
