first night on vpap auto
Re: first night on vpap auto
I wouldn't sleep well with flow limitations like yours either. I very much like the way Mirage Quattro feels and fits, but I just have difficulties breathing through my nose with it. P10 does expand my nostrils and I can breathe through my nose very well but the mask alone is useless, unless I tape my mouth. Still struggling to find a tapeless solution: none of the oral appliances work.
UPDATE: What is weird, however, is that your flow limitations get worse as pressure increases, which reminds me of cathyf's case

Re: first night on vpap auto
I wonder if the flow limitations was the pillows.and congestion
Here is the flow limitation chart from the first night

Aah, this looks better. Though snoring is quite-quite significant. Can you zoom in on flow limitation chart? I want to see the flow curves. Just a guess, if your flow limitation gets worse with higher pressures, could it be because your exhalation gets obstructed more?Greg Riddle wrote:I wonder if the flow limitations was the pillows.and congestion

Re: first night on vpap auto
nope. I'm lucky to get anything out off therm. The allergy dr has been thinking about sending me back to ent. It's that something that ent should deal with

Re: first night on vpap auto
I am almost sure. Facts:Greg Riddle wrote:Would uars explain why I was so good directly after nasal surgery and slowly been getting worse
1. a low AHI;
2. a bad sleep in general;
3. known nasal congestions;
4. pronounced flow limitations;
Welcome to the club of UARSers.
Question to everyone:
a UARS suspect. Flow limitations can get worse with pressure increase (am I reading the charts properly?). Shouldn't EPAPmin be lowered and PS should be increased to keep IPAP higher (over 20)? Since such pressure changes (acyclic) can be sleep-disruptive.

Re: first night on vpap auto
I can try to lower the epap and raise the ps to 6 or 7 and test again

Re: first night on vpap auto
as an amateur, I can't advise you to do it, of course, but that is what I would try myself. The goal is to see whether FLs can be grounded and whether that will help, which may take a few weeks. Do you use nasal strips or any other kind of dilators with your FFM?Greg Riddle wrote:I can try to lower the epap and raise the ps to 6 or 7 and test again

Re: first night on vpap auto
Don't use nasal strips they don't help. I have been using a mixture of alkolol and nasal rinse 3 times a day and dymista nasal decongestant. I get minimal results at best. I always have some nasal congestion

Re: first night on vpap auto
ok, flimsy nostrils are ruled out. I guess then a nasal mask won't make any difference in breathing either, even when awake, right?Greg Riddle wrote:Don't use nasal strips they don't help. Re: first night on vpap auto
Will not make any difference. The obstructions are deep inside my nose.
This part is a bit wrong but here goes right now the left nostril is congested. But I can still my finger into my nostril all the way to my skull with no resistance. The obstructions are deep inside
