I wonder if Skinit will get on the bandwagon with the new model--or maybe the S9 skins were a bust?

the expanded data retention on the sd card and software upgradability are intriguing to me.
I haven't got around to getting the manual to look at it. I just now requested it.
Since I won't be getting one of these machines (no money for that kind of experimentation) I am pretty much going to be on the side lines about the S10 except for the basic stuff.

Re: Resmed AirSense just released...will Respironics be next
ResMed has dropped the escape name.
Besides the Airsense 10 Autoset for her,( and whoever else), there is an Elite and an unnamed Airsense 10 cpap
with compliance and AHI, also with EPR and Sensawake.
Kind of sounds like an escape, (with a "fink" function to record when you are not asleep?)
Talk about pressure!

They claim the hose is '360 degree swivel' in the humidifier video.chunkyfrog wrote:The ClimatelineAir heated hose has a right angle built right in!

Well we will see - I have a bunch of Flex Spending dollars to burn before the end of the year (over 1K) so I've been thinking about buying a new machine, even though my S9 Autoset is still fine. From what I've read here though, it doesn't seem like it really has that many additional features?

My husband is in the market for a new machine and is liking the S9 BiPap Autoset. Is this the replacement for it?
AirCurve™ 10 S
AirCurve™ 10 S
Daily Machine: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset w/Heated Humidifier

tl:

I'm still using an older model of machine.
I don't understand what a "compliance modem" is, exactly.
Not _what_ it does (compliance, apparently), but HOW it does it.
What type of network does it connect to?
broadband
3G
4G
dial-up
whatever
You may be as technical as you wish. Please.

there's no such thing as a s9 bipap autoset.BoomersRock wrote:My husband is in the market for a new machine and is liking the S9 BiPap Autoset. Is this the replacement for it?
AirCurve™ 10 S
bipap is a registered trademark of philips respironics.
autoset is a single pressure auto varying machine.
do you mean a "S9 VPAP AUTO" perhaps?

Bi-Level is the Resmed name for this? My husband uses a bi-level (bi-pap) machine.
Daily Machine: ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset w/Heated Humidifier
Re: Resmed AirSense just released...will Respironics be next
Bilevel is the term for a machine that uses 2 separate pressures instead of a single pressure.BoomersRock wrote:Bi-Level is the Resmed name for this?
ResMed's name for bilevel machine models would be the VPAP
Respironics name for bilevel machine models would be BiPap
The AirCurve™ 10 S would be ResMed's next generation VPAP S which is a fixed bilevel pressure machine. These aren't available yet.
The current ResMed bilevel machine that is available would be S9 VPAP series....and there's several different models available in that series.
In the new S10 AirCurve series (AirCurve appears to be the new name for the ResMed bilevel machines) eventually they will likely have these models.
AirCurve S
AirCurve Auto
AirCurve Adapt SV
and maybe a couple of other ASV type of machines used in special circumstances

Re: Resmed AirSense just released...will Respironics be next
So far, all I've seen is that the patient must have "cellular coverage" for the machine to access AirView, the cloud monitoring service that used to be called EasyCare Online, I think.xyz wrote:What type of network does it connect to?
Resmed PR wrote:A. Patient data will be transmitted from the AirSense™ 10 or AirCurve™ 10 device one hour after therapy has stopped. Note: The patient must have cellular coverage to transmit data, and the device must not be in Airplane Mode.

Is it just me, or does this new machine seem klunkier (or at least taller) and less sleeker than the S9?

Thank you for your reply.
How do "compliance modems" connect to "cellular coverage"?
Bluetooth? You pair your machine with your cell phone?
If that's true, if you don't pair them, then the machine doesn't call home?
(hint, hint)

Re: Resmed AirSense just released...will Respironics be next
it's a cellular modem. it talks direct to a cellular network and through that back to home base. they've very popular for things like alarm systems too. and gps trackers.xyz wrote: How do "compliance modems" connect to "cellular coverage"?
