I really like the looks of it.... Sort of a Quattro FX with a forehead stabilizer.

Last Friday, I called APRIA at their office in my area and asked about it.

They had not heard about it, but told me that they would look into it for me

my hunch is that we'll probably see it via for sale at one of the on-line sellers before the DME's have it available.

I tried this the last couple of nights. Semi impressed. The old quattro FX is so tight on my face now to try and achieve a seal and stop it moving all over my face. This one looked promising. It is very comfortable to wear but it tends to slide around a bit with the humidifier on and I do mouth breath as well. My daughter tells me I was snoring with it on too. So it's not the solution for me. Try it before you buy it in my opinion.

I agree. It had to be so tight for me that my teeth has cut up one side of my mouth. Not for me.

Going on 7 months and still no luck finding a mask that works.
Machine: SleepEasy w/Built-In Heated Humidifier
Mask: N/A at the moment
Humidifier: PR System One
Software: N/A
Pressure: 7

I am new with CPAP and have tried several full masks and nasal pillows, the Amera was the best I had tried until now I have used the F&P Simplus for two nights and find it very comfortable with minimal leakage, I have had a problem getting a good seal due to moustache and beard and am a side sleeper, So far this is the best I have tried. this is the quietest I have tried as well.
I am Canadian and it is new here so hopefully it will be available in US soon.

Just a follow up:
I have now used this mask for 2 weeks now and by far it is the best mask that I have tried. I have been trying different face and nasal masks for the past two months and this is by far is the best one for me. I have been hard to fit and have a good seal due to moustache & beard as well as removing both upper and lower dentures before going to bed.

F&P is ramping up production. The demand in other markets, Au. & Can. have kept it from being released in USA. Mid to late Aug is best guess at this time.

Looks similar to the Resmed Quattro Air that my DME showed me Monday

Thanks for the reviews SleepStar. Our F&P rep told us a FFM would be coming out with the Eson design but the last we heard (few weeks ago) it was still not out. Good to hear "good reports" from some pts.
I agree that new FFM excite me as well since we seem to have many nasal and pillow mask but very few FFM.
In regards to the Amara...we too were disappointed. Lots of hype but the mask did not perform well and leaks a lot. Im surprised Respironics would not put more effort into fixing these issues before putting out a mask.

Thanks again for the heads up.

As an FYI, someone from the customer care division of FPHealthcare said they don't have a release date for the US but expect it to be within a few months. Sorry I meant to post this and forgot.

We have the Simplus in Australia but not the Quattro Air. My supplier said from pictures that they look very similar.
I have had a couple of night with the Simplus and found it good - only things that really works for me except the Quattro. I think I had it too tight as I had a headache the next day but I had also not worn my night time plate for teeth grinding so I am not sure what caused what!

I love the Amara -- except when I wear it..... It's really a great design except the cushion has a very hard spot right at the bridge of the nose (the Quattro has a cut-out at that spot, taking pressure off the nose) so inevitably it causes me a serious pressure sore, even after one night. No matter how loosely I adjust it, it causes a sore. I almost never use it as a result and may just sell it.

Otherwise, the Amara has great headgear and vent, and is super light and extremely easy to clean. I really hope PR fixes the Cushion design to alleviate this problem.

The Simplus looks like a close copy of the Amara. It looks very light and easy to clean. I am concerned about the vent in the Simplus however. It seems like a less refined vent design with large holes -- so I wonder about its noise level.

I haven't been able to get my hands on the Simplus yet, but I can say it should be drastically different from the Quattro Air. The Air is great in that it's lightweight and you can't feel the forehead piece (both features the Eson shares, and the Simplus will likely have as well), but the Quattro Air has issues leaking on people. I can get it to work well on myself if I tighten it a lot (which is surprisingly a lot more comfortable than tightening any other mask, actually), but that can be the case with most masks, so I'm still somewhat leery on it. I expect great things from the Simplus, since when I first got my hands on the Eson I hooked myself up to the machine, set the pressure to 20, and didn't have even a hint of a leak with the mask being fairly loose on my head. If the FF version is anything like the nasal, the Simplus will be the go-to mask for anyone who likes Full Face masks.

I have used the simplus on and off for the last month. I found that it is very comfortable and unobtrusive. But one thing I did find that after a while 2-3 hours it would start to leak very slightly around the nose nothing major but some may have a issue. I would just give it a quick wipe and it would seal right back up. I do normally use a nasal pillow

I did a search via google and it appears to be for sale on several australian cpap suppliers sites. price is listed at anywhere from 250 to 275.... I'm not sure if it is in australian currency or U.S.

I also found this detailed review of the mask on a site called "surviving Sleep apnea"

I just put the Quattro on to test it out and that was exactly my experience with it at 13. Having to greatly tighten the straps takes away the advantage of it being light in my opinion. Maybe I will have a better experience when I try to sleep with it.

Wow, that would be great if the Simplus was like the eson in being able to wear it loosely at high pressures without leaking.
