anybody found a cure other than cpap Bell#23 sound sleep

Postby carpenter1 on Fri Feb 17, 2012 11:29 am

I recently read a newspaper article stating that tons of people do no need to use cpap anymore because of this Bell#23 supplement. Anybody know anything about this?

I am sure it is a good money maker.

MSM, melatonin, chamomille, passionflower, skulcap, valerian

But half of those herbs are relaxants and sleep inducing and don't help with keeping firm muscle tone.

Most of those people are in denial and will end up on a slab in the morgue.

There is not a single real sleep study available on this.

Yea, I guess it may help with insomnia in addition to cpap.

As someone who fell for the sleep apnea pill I can attest to the fact that it didn't make one iota of improvement in any facet of my treatment.

Thanks. I have been using sleeping pills for years and my dr. suggested trying to get off them. I'm looking for an alternative any suggestions?

Just try and wean off the pills. OTC sleep aids. Do certain foods make you sleepy? You may be in for some rough patches getting off the pills. Good luck. Hang in there.

Yes, it can most definitely end the apnea--just not the way you want.

REally??? If there are tons of people who don't need cpap, I'd say they didn't have sleep apnea in the first place. Other than making you sleepy, this medicine won't do anything for the musculature in your throat. To date, there are no pills, herbal or otherwise, that tighten musculature. Or like someone else said, they will end up on a slab in a morgue with a lot of Bell #23 in their system.

Bottom line - there is no cure at present for sleep apnea! There is only treatment - cpap being the gold standard!

This "Bell" outfit touts a lot of stuff in Canada. There is a "Bell Sharks Cartilige" (I assumne it's the same outfit) GUARANTEED to cure Rheumatoid Arthrtis, which I also have. I have not tried it but, from my experience, there is also no cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis and I've had it for 20 years.
Lots of really effective treatments in the form of new APPROVED AND PROVEN drug therapies and exercise programs but no cure.
I tried lots of those, "unapproved and unproven", things for Rhematoid Arthritis, like the Bell one, over the years. I am not cured. I am wiser and poorer (for wasting my money) but not cured!

If some kind of sleep aid makes it possible for you to sleep despite the sleep apnea, you might actually feel better.

Of course, you're probably doing more harm than good because the O2/CO2 problems would persist. You might even make the apnea worse because waking up is one of the things that makes you start breathing again sooner.

Plus it could delay you from getting treatment for apnea before it does you more serious harm.

there certainly is a lot of anger in the replies here.....
even without anyone having practical knowledge of trying the product.
my experience is anything is better than a cpap machine, including nothing at all.....

Careful, your experience is falling out on the floor, be careful and don't step on it. Jim
