Confessions of a CPAPTALK junkie

Post by chrisp » Tue Mar 01, 2011 6:39 pm

Hello all,

I have been a member of this forum since 2004. I have made many friends and a few enemies. I was often bored by some of the threads and some I didn't want to end. So........ One day I was reading a PM from Wader. We somehow started chatting about a poem , "High Flight" "I slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of GOD" Well, that was it. The beginning, the ultimate, the biggest scam ever put forth on cpaptalk.com. It wasn't evil, it was educational , somewhat humerous and it gave everyone a chance to feel good. To help a poor unfortunate soul half way around the world living in a small apartment with only a small wire supplying electricty. What was a cpap/ How does it work, Where would he get it. A compilation of many questions that are asked daily on this board but with a twist. He was in India and worked in a library and had a somewhat limited understanding of english, American english that is. All his humorous questions and misunderstandings. How polite you were to him. Taking him step by step through the cpap world. The best country to live in. Numerous topics.

Surly now lives "Somewhere in Texas".

If you don't know by now. I am Surly Abond. The poor librarian at the National Library of India. http://www.nationallibrary.gov.in/

I hope you enjoyed helping him as much as I did.

Thanks Wader for keeping the secret and helping me set up some of the others. It was a great story that I can't take credit for because it belongs to all of you. RG for your sweet patient responses. SWS for dumbing down your usually technically superior explanations. Wader, for keeping it going.

Thanks for making it a real teaching moment to all who read the "Surly Abond posts.

Many Blessings,

chrisp
