Hose management:curious

I'm just curious about my hose management.
I have my machine in the bottom shelf of the night stand.
The hose comes up and I use a big alligator clip to attach the
hose cover to the edge of the sheet.
The hose then loops down and backup to my mask.

I just flip from left to right and back throughout the night.
I have learned to just flip the hose when I roll each way to make it
lie on the edge of the bed for left side and over my hip for right side.
It has become an automatic action and I don't even notice I do it.

With the hose always directed toward my feet, it tends to hold my mask secure.
It is also no problem when I travel and sleep in strange places....
w/the clip, it is always the same setup, no matter what the bed situation.
I don't have to worry about hose hangers and all that stuff, at home or travel.

Does anyone else manage their hose this way???

I will have to think about that one. My machine is below the level of the top of the mattress and the hose is brought in at navel level under the sheet and runs up to the mask. I sleep on my tummy the first half of the night and then roll to my right side for the second half. The hose just comes along with me and being under the cover the hose is not cold.

For a while, I had my hose clipped to the side of my pillow and would just flip the pillow over to the other side when I turned. It worked fine, but I did find that I would awaken more than I liked to manage the hose. So a few weeks ago I got a Hozer hose management system. Love it!!! It keeps the hose above my head at all times and I don't even have to think about where my hose is anymore! It also assembles/disassembles quickly, so would be great for travel.

I mounted a post above my headboard and I pass the hose through a scrunchy which is hung from the post. I adjust the length of the hose past the scrunchy so that the hose never lays on the bed but gives me enough slack for all of my sleeping positions. This method solved much of my variable leak issues early on and I never have to manipulate the hose to change sleeping positions. This method essentially eliminates hose forces on the mask that can cause leaks.

Sorta like you c-man tho I don't clip the hose, I just tuck it under the edge of the pillow when facing that edge of the pillow (left side) and free floating when I turn over to my right side; however, I have more events and need more pressure when on my right side, so I try to stay on my left side.

Oh, my APAP sits on a 1-step stool beside the bed and is covered with fleece.

My AutoSet II is located on the nightstand sitting a few inches lower than the mattress. My hose is under my covers at chest to shoulder level. I move freely from side to side or back. I don't have issues with rainout....I'm glad my hose management is much less complicated than yours and many others!!!!!

So far, my hose management has been nil.

I sleep on the left side of the bed, adjacent to a nightstand. My bipap machine sits on the nightstand slightly higher than my bed, almost exactly level with my head. My position varies from flat-on-the-back to right side to left side, with a cuddle pillow.

The hose hangs over the front of the nightstand, and comes up over the left side of the bed. It moves with me when I turn to the right, and retracts due to gravity when I turn to the left.

My impression is that my leakage problems all come from mask/face/pillow [/other pillow] interaction, and not from hose impedance. I sometimes get a tiny bit of condensation in the mask, but so far none in the hose.

No clips. No hangers. No nuttin'. Am I blessed, or what?

Is the clip attaching it to the side or at the top edge of the bed. (wouldn't mind seeing a picture of what the clip looks like.)

Well Lusiana isn't part of this world...it's just an extension from an alternate universe which bears only a slight resemblance to Earth!!!

Carbonman, I have the Hozer system, and really like it. I prefer the hose going up and over my head because it seems to tug at my nasal mask if it's going down toward my feet.
