The "faceshield", lol. If I suggested that, I know who would be sleeping in the guest bedroom .....

OK so why would a person refuse a pair of nice soft earplugs?
A heartfelt thanks to all those patient cpaptalk posters willing to share their exerience and knowledge with newbs like me.

Well, fiddled. With the baffle idea. I took some material that is used for breather elements in machinery and cut it down to fit my Swift LT. I arched it over the vent holes so the air is out of the holes before it hits the mterial. Amazingly it is silent. See the pictures below.

I have a question for the more expert or engineering types. Is this sufficient for the expelled air to get out and stay out. Am I compromising anything in the design of the mask?

Gotta hand it to ya...I am so impressed with the ingenuity of us hose-heads...anything to make this therapy work

I would make sure your 'baffle' can't be squished against the exhaust vent...maybe thin strips of semi-rigid plastic curved on the inside?

ingenius idea raylo! If you do need a plastic guard to insure that you don't suffocate yourself, I would think you could trim up a finger guard used to protect fx fingers over the material or instead of the material. Love your idea....now just have to find a man!
