Re: Which hose management system?
Last night I jerry-rigged a hose management "system" by putting a sweat band on a nearby light (which had been turned off to make sure I didn't set my hose on fire) and running my hose through the sweat band. My mask's seal was significantly better than normal and I had a nearly flat leak rate throughout the night.
I'm up in the air between the CozyHose and the Hozer systems. It's easy to picture the Hozer with its fishing rod style components. For those who use the Hozer, does its flexibility allow your masks to maintain its seal if, for example, you move from your back to your side during the night.
I can't, however, picture the CozyHose system. It looks like it has a 3M command hook, but what, exactly, is the "self retracting reel"? Is it likely to provide enough movement so my mask retains its seal if I move from my back to my side?

Re: Which hose management system?
There is no real need to spend big bucks on hose management equipment. With less than $10, you can design a nice portable set up.
~ $3.00 to $5.00

~ $3.00 to $5.00

or instead of the retractable thingy you can use a plastic coil key chain for about $1.00 to $2.00

... and all items are most likely made in China so it should fit well with the rest of your CPAP equipment ... and TVs, and PCs, and talipia, and generic drugs, and credit cards

Re: Which hose management system?
DreamStalker, I think you've reverse engineered pur-sleep's CozyHose system. I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nope ... There are pics on previous posts on this forum that show I have been using this type of setup for at least 1.5 years before Bret (SleepGuy of Pur-Sleep) ever came out with his.greyhound wrote:DreamStalker, I think you've reverse engineered pur-sleep's CozyHose system. Re: Which hose management system?
I got this a few weeks ago, the CozyHoze Boss from Pur Sleep, and really like it.
http://www.pur-sleep.com/products/prodD ... rch=&page=
Simple to install and uninstall, reasonably priced and effective. I use the Swift LT and found that attaching the hose to that stupid holder they have on the top strap always cuased problems with unseating the nasal pillow and increasing leaks. Since I started using the CozyHose Boss, I get less leaks, which is very visible in my data. It's very easy to turn over in your sleep since it has some play due to the pulley system it uses. It's great for business travel, super light and compact - fits in a pocket, again easy to install and take down.

Immediately after I hit the submit key, I thought that I should have added a comment that maybe Bret copied one of your ideas. After seeing your post today, I do recall seeing it some time ago.DreamStalker wrote:Nope ... Re: Which hose management system?
Like others here, I use the Hozer system. Since it is the only one I've used, I have nothing to use for comparison purposes. However, I do not need anything else. This product is excellent and works very well for me. The hose used to be a huge issue for me, always in my way as I turned throughout the night. Since using the Hozer, the hose has not been in my way even once (and I turn a LOT during the night). I highly recommend it. It was worth every penny to me.
Re: Which hose management system?
When I first started I considered purchasing a hose management system but have discovered, so far anyways, that I can get along fine without it.
At home I have place a towel over some bubble wrap on the "headboard". This makes a smooth area for the hose to slide around during the night as I move from one side to the other.
When I visit with mom I do that same thing. Down in San Antonio the "headboard" was smooth round metal... so no towel was required.
I tried the "under the covers" hose management, but found I was fussing and concerned about the hose too much during the night. With the hose come from overhead there are no worries... I can move anyway I want, except out of bed, and not have issues.

Re: Which hose management system?
I did the same thing, the 3M Command, hung a Goody Pony Tail Holder on the hook, attached two of the retractable Key Holders, then put a loop of velcro through the ring that you put the keys on and around the hose. Just like the Cozy Hose Boss but only about $10. Works Great!DreamStalker wrote:There is no real need to spend big bucks on hose management equipment. I use a Command hook for hose management as shown here - http://www.command.com/wps/portal/3M/en ... WMHBDJXSbl

Re: Which hose management system?
I have the HoseBuddy but don't use it when I use nasal pillows as the large hose from the machine will usually overpower the short hose attached to the pillows interface and jerk the pillows around. Maybe I'm missing something??? I looked at the Hozer and it looked from the picture that I would have the same problem - no? I can see how it would be effective with the large hose hooked directly to a ffm but the short tubes attached to pillows masks are no match for the weight of the large hose encased in a hose cozy wrap.
Re: Which hose management system?
I bought a plant hanger that goes on the wall and sticks out at the dollar store for $1, attached it to my headboard and ran my hose along it and down to my face. Mind you I've wacked my noodle on it once or twice when I've gotten up too fast .
