best prices online for supplies?

Post by melanie » Thu Oct 09, 2008 1:01 pm

Just wondering if anyone has a favorite website for puchasing cpap supplies? I'm obviously looking for the best prices as my insurance carrier company is a major ripoff!

I've used bestcpapprice.com and was very happy with their pricing.

ETA: CPAP.com will price match most items, but I'd rather see the best price up-front.

This is most obvious on Respironics products, which have Minimum Advertised pricing in effect. Cpap.com offers the ComfortFull 2 Full Face CPAP Mask with Headgear for $99 https://www.cpap.com/productpage.php?Ig ... &PNum=2058, whereas bestcpapprice offers the same item for $77. https://www.bestcpapprice.com/Respironi ... 0-242.html

Both sites say "no returns on opened products".

Cpap.com offers 7-day price protection (100% of the differece) on their products (and doesn't seem to limit the products they will price match on).
bestcpapprice.com offers 14-day price protection (110% of the difference) on their products, but does limit the products to higher-priced items like machines and masks, and offers no price guarantee on things like hoses, filters, and such (although the ones I checked for my particular machine were lower on bestcpapprice.com).

That would be:

https://www.cpap.com

They are also the provider of this forum.

As with anything, you just need to shop around online, because prices change every day. For instance, the machine I'm looking at for purchase as a back-up/travel machine is now about $50 less on cpap.com than the other site listed above. I have absolutely no vested interest, but admit that I am partial to purchasing from cpap.com because of their providing this incredible forum.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.

And, CPAP.COM will price-match other sellers if you do find a lower price.

Agreed. Their policy is to match, not beat, but I can't really complain about that. The reason cpap.com didn't get my order, and wait for what a horrid excuse it is..... because they are in Texas (as am I). Because our inept government hasn't found some way to make out-of-state internet purchases taxable on a level basis, I could either pay sales tax on $700 or NOT pay sales tax on $700. That is the SOLE reason why I didn't purchase from cpap.com. Naturally, I fully intend to declare the purchase to my state and volunteer the sales tax payment (yeah right!).

So, it's not like I have some bone to pick with cpap.com, just that they happen to be in the best state, yet the wrong one.

xyz,

You from Oklahoma? The only other place I've heard that is for someone from OK.

If so (sorry JeffH).....why doesn't Texas fall into the Gulf of Mexico?...because Oklahoma sucks. Just kidding, its rivalry weekend.

You're right. It was how we got rid of the Democratic state senators a few years ago. Too bad y'all sent 'em back

There is no sales tax on medical equipment in Texas. I love Texas!

Then my humblest of apologies to cpap.com for not using them. The only thing holding me back was that blasted sales tax crap.

I am also in Texas and have ordered a number of things from Cpap.com (located in Houston).
I have not been charged any sales tax! This includes purchases of APAP, Hum, Hoses, Masks, etc.

I am not sure, but I believe that medical supplies may be exempt from sales tax.

Began CPAP on Jul 22, 2008. Split Night Study failed to get a good titration pressure. Titrated (2 week home APAP) at 10. Currently using APAP at 13-15. Not using Humidifier. Even with SA under control, still can't sleep all night!
