Question for TapPap users

Has anyone experienced their teeth or jaw moving (over a period of years) from using the TapPap mask? I use one and love it, but worry about my bite, which is more open than it used to be. Orthodontist evaluation says my lower jaw is too far forward.
No way to tell if the mask had anything to do with either of these issues, though. The jaw could have been that way all my life. (Age 69)
The orthodontist is having me stop using TapPap for three months, and he'll re-measure and re-scan. (Ugh I hate the alternate masks.)

I used the TAP PAP for a couple months after Mohs nose surgery to avoid headgear, and never really liked the idea of putting my teeth in traction. Or the feeling. Loved not having headgear, though, that was the silver lining. I'm now using an AirFit N30 nasal mask. It's quite comfortable, those nasal cradle cushions really are pretty cushy *smile*. Just a thought about an alternative to the TAP PAP that, while it has minimal headgear, is really pretty comfortable.

Well, it could have gone better, but my nose is still there and functional. Won't be using nasal pillows anymore, though *smile*...but the nasal cradle masks are working just fine for me now.

Thank you, I'll look into that. One great thing about Tap Pap is it holds the pillows very still. When I use my AirFit P10, the pillows must be moving too much and the next day I have runny nose and intolerable tickles & sneezing.
Seeing the sleep doc today to discuss a new machine too, mine is ancient!

It turned out my settings weren't correct. I had checked off Notifications, but it had to be selected in a couple different places in my profile, and I guess I had never done it right in ten years, haha.

The TapPap is a favorite of mine. After several years of use my dentist commented on matching spots on both sides of my gums with tissue damage. Advised me to not wear the mask and see if they cleared up, and if not to see an oral pathologist. One side cleared up, the other didn't. Glad this subject came up. I had forgotten to follow up on that.

Hope it clears up! I've been asking dentists for a decade whether this type of mask would shift my teeth and none of them were remotely concerned. But they also didn't seem interested in actually looking at it. I guess they thought "mouth guard" and tons of people wear mouth guards, prescribed by dental professionals even.

I think now that I have gum recession, it was starting to irritate, so it's time to switch over. But it served me well for a long time.

My latest wild guess about my jaw moving forward is that it's simply because the easiest position for my lower lip is forward. I may try blocking part of the underside of the fixture with tape or something, so my lower lip stays aligned with my upper.

Actually, orthodontists could probably create a better-fitting mouth guard attached to nasal pillows. I might ask mine to try that.
