Need a new cpap supplier

Post by squid13 » Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:28 am

I was with American Home Patient for 7 years and never had a problem with them. Lincare bought American Home Patient and on my second order it is all screwed up, I ordered 3 cushions for my mask and 3 filter packs. My order arrived and I had a mask frame and cushion and 1 filter pack. I called this morning and was on hold for an hour and she read from her talking points and it was like talking to a brick wall, anyway nothing got resolved. I'm looking for a good mail order that takes Medicare. There is no local mom and pop store.

Are you in a competitive bid area for Medicare?

Have you gone to the Medicare website and plugged in your zip code to find out who and what options might be available to you?

I have heard some forum members speak favorably about Verus
https://verushealthcare.com/medicare/
according to their website they can do the competitive bid thing.

I have no personal experience with anything other than my local mom and pop. Sorry.

I went to the Medicare site and according to it cpap is not on the bid list. They listed some shops but most are large outfits that belong to a corporation that we already know are not worth there salt. The local Lincare shop is no better than the on line people.

I've used Versus Healthcare for around two years. Haven't had any problems with them. I haven't seen any negative reviews about them on the forum.

I get my supplies through Optigen. Their web site is military cpap.com. I have used them for about a year without any problems. When my wife ordered her machine, they brought it to the house and set it up. They accept both Medicare and Tricare.

Under the Non-Competitive Bid Categories I checked the box that said CPAP, RADs, & Related Supplies & Accessories that's why I thought it was a no bid for my zip code.

According to the Medicare website, the only thing that is classified competitive bidding is diabetes supplies. You can use any DME that accepts Medicare for your CPAP supplies.

Okie is correct. It's the same for Mobile. I was in that same Homepatient boat when Lincare sank it. I couldn't get away fast enough. I went to cpap solutions, a mom and pop in mobile thats been around 16 years. It's a pretty nice place with good people. They take most all insurance. i have medicare and tricare for life. give them a call and see if they can deal with you in pensacola. http://www.cpapmobile.com/ theres also oak ridge pharmacy which is a nice place. http://www.oakridgehealth.com/
there are plenty more. stick zipcode 36582 in with about 20 miles to see some more.

LSAT, I think I know why you are getting a different result.
Competitive bid areas are determined by zip code.
Any results will be for the zip code you enter, whether or not that is where you are.
