Im back and trying again! Grade my logs! Issues...
Hi all
Im back and trying this again
Gave up on my useless 'insurance' and just bought what I needed myself
Already have Resmed Airsense 10
Bought a heated hose (which I still have rainout), Nuance Pro, and filters.
Issues as of first use; getting rainout, nose a lil' red, and when I blew my nose I had a small bit of blood.
Screenshot of logs and settings;
Looking for thoughts on this and how to fix issues.
No idea how well or bad I did.
TIA!

For rain out issues and options check this thread posts #2 and 3.

Is your nasal mucosa a bit dry? That might explain the slightly bloody nose....might try increasing the humidity level..right now set to 3 which is on the low side.
I can't enlarge your screen shot and can't see all the numbers but what I do see like AHI and leak rate are well within acceptable ranges.
So in that area....you did very well last night.
No large leaks and AHI well below 5.0.
Go get some Lansinoh lanolin ointment/cream and apply it to your nostril area and a little up inside where it might be dried out.
It can be found in the baby aisle of most stores. It's used by breast feeding mom's to help with dried/cracked/painful nipple issues.

Yeah it did feel a bit dry, kinda like a wind burn when I would breathe in. At what level do you think I should set it?Pugsy wrote:For rain out issues and options check this thread posts #2 and 3.

Is AHI when the machine failed or when the machine had to jump in? Sorry I still don't 100% understand this stuff.

Ill have a look at the ointment. Im thinking maybe I just had it too tight. At least thats what the documentation says about redness.
Another note, I just realized I need to check those settings. They do not look right at all. I had it set to nasal, not full mask... Climate control was auto...
Im going to start readin up on your threads here in a bit. Thanks!!!
Re: Im back and trying again! Grade my logs! Issues...
Humidity setting depends a lot on what your nose/skin wants and what you are starting out with in your bedroom ambient humidity.
Since you are already having rain out issues....increase the hose air temp also...I would make small changes in the humidity setting. Like 1 at a time.
The settings stuff reported by SH...some of that is known buggy and reports weird stuff. Confirm on your machine that you have what you think you have and don't worry about what SH reports in that settings area.

Your AHI as shown by Sleepyhead represents the apneas, etc. that were not prevented by the CPAP machine. Apneas that were prevented by your CPAP aren't shown in your sleep data.SouthSeaPirate wrote: Yeah it did feel a bit dry, kinda like a wind burn when I would breathe in. Re: Im back and trying again! Grade my logs! Issues...
Set your machine on something a bit lower than your bed... you shouldn't get rainout then.

Hose air temp has to be warmer some how some fashion.
See this thread posts #2 and 3
viewtopic/t94035/Pugsys-Pointers-3Deali ... -road.html
Putting the machine lower doesn't work well with ResMed machines anyway. I have the AirSense and with the way the hose attaches at the back any water in the hose can't drain well anyway.
People who aren't using this machine don't have a clue how that hose is attached to the humidifier.
Water has to make a 90 degree turn and it will pool in the hose first.
Besides...water in the mask usually has to go uphill some how anyway...and it can't go uphill.
Exception might be if you slept with face totally face down and not many people do that.

I only get rainout when it is cold in my room. What temperature is your bedroom? Are you sure that you are not overfilling your humidifier?SouthSeaPirate wrote:So changed settings and rainout got worse, way worse
