Airfit f20 first night

Post by Yayoe10 » Wed May 17, 2017 12:53 am

Got myself the airfit f20 and will be trying it out tonight. Decided to go with the LARGE , even though I was a medium according to my specialist on the F10, the sizing guide landed me on a Large but it does feel a little to big but let's see how it goes. Did read that the f20 comes smaller than the f10. Hope for no leaks !

Good luck tonight, Yayoe10! I just got mine two days ago. I love how quiet it is and the fact that it doesn't leak around my eyes and this is the first FF mask that I haven't had major straps marks. A huge plus for me is that I haven't had to wear a chin strap with this mask (I do with other FF masks to avoid chipmunk cheeks). I am unsure if I have the right cushion size, though. I use a small in the f10 but ordered the medium in the f20 because according to the template that's what I should have. I may need to get a small cushion because of mask farts when I turn over in my sleep. We'll see, though, I'll fiddle with it for a while and see if I can eliminate them. Getting a new mask is such a hopeful time, isn't it? Let us know how it goes.

I tried it in only for like 2 hours couldn't get used to it :/ I went a size Large too even tho I used a medium on the F10 but I think the large is a little big for me , having same problem as you, might be able to switch to a medium tomorrow , hopefully will work. Feels a little more rough than the f10 tho

I think it is stiffer than the f10. Did you see the post about about the Airtouch f20 cushion with Memory foam? It's supposed to fit the f20 frame. That looks interesting to me but first I want to get what I have tweaked or try the smaller cushion.

I am having trouble with keeping my mouth closed, even with a deluxe chin strap (currently using nasal pillows). I am looking for a full solution. Your signature shows you are using the F10 mask, and it looks like you tried out the F20... what did you decide? Thank you in advance - I am just getting frustrated.

I'm sorry I need to update my info mdunc. I have been switching back and forth between the the Amara View and the F10 for a year or so. If I'm not congested I've been using the Amara View with a chinstrap because I get chipmunk cheeks which startles me out of sleep when I don't use it. If I'm congested I use the F10 again with the chinstrap for the same reason. Even with a chinstrap and positioning my tongue properly my mouth wants to open causing me dry mouth. Last night was my 3rd night using the f20 with a Padacheek liner. The first two nights I used the extra cushioning for the nose bridge that comes with the liner but I had a few too many mask farts. Last night I removed the extra padding and loosened the mask and it sealed perfectly. I do not have to use a full chin strap with the f20 but I am using a Padacheek mask stabilizer to help keep my chin closed. It is such a relief not to wear a full head covering chinstrap which hurts my ears that I am going to use the the f20 for a while. The next time I buy a cushion it might be the Airtouch one with the memory foam. You know mask choice is so personal but the Amara View, the f10, and the f20 have all been pretty comfortable for me although not perfect. I am sorry you are having so much trouble with your mask. I used to use nasal pillows with a chinstrap and tape as I got into the higher pressures I found the combination wasn't working for me anymore. I hope you find something that works for you!
