Mask issues..HICKY

Post by forhumanservices » Wed Jan 11, 2017 3:05 pm

Hello Cpap friends,

I have been on cpap for the last couple of months...been through 3 masks...
the mask I have been using the most (full face) is giving me issues now..have a mask picky and just got fed up last night and took it off..
What to do? I have tried the nasal pillow but my jaw drops open...tried the chin strap but I have to have it so tight ...it hurts.
Please help!

Wouldn't it help to name the mask, the type, the model?

If your mask is leaving a mark on your face, the headgear may be too tight.
Possibly because your mask is the wrong size.
Yeah, that happens when they just don't CARE.
If you can identify the brand and model of mask you have, it would help.

Maybe try a hybrid, like an Amara View. Allows you to breath through your mouth with a smaller footprint than traditional full face masks.

I am the same way with the jaw drop and chin strap. I finally tried taping my mouth shut and it works. I use the 2" 3M Micropore paper tape.
