Read the Safety Data Sheet (formerly MSDS) for ozone. NASTY STUFF.
Gov't. regulations limit concentrations in consumer applications to "safe" levels.
In other words, any concenteation considered safe for humans would be equally safe for microbes.

It is ozone. #2 you will not be breathing the ozone as the mask is cleaned when it is NOT being used and the ozone is absorbed in the atmosphere/dissipates as soon as the machine is inactive. Go to the SoClean website for a video.
And who breaths Atmosphere anyway, when you quote what people say, try doing it correctly, in context. Not that anyone cares what a shill thinks! My room Window A/c has a Ozone Generator built into it, I never turn it on and the whole A/C unit costs less than two of your No Clean units, and it really does something. Jim

Once again, I'd like to say "Thank you!" to those who post here. Being a new CPAP user, I now notice adds for CPAP-related items. On my way home from work, I heard an ad for Soclean. I was thinking, "Well, I definitely want clean equipment. Maybe other people use this and recommend it." So, I came to this site, and did a search. You saved me some money, and I learned more about cleaning and sanitizing my machine.

I'm just a week and a half into using my machine. I'm getting used to it, and now my nose pillows aren't hurting me either (thanks, once again, to this site). I haven't notice a lot of increase energy, but I do realize it takes time. I'm glad I found this site. I appreciate all of you who take the time to help the newbie like me.

I didn't have a good experience with them via email trying to figure out if it would work for my machine. That took about a week. They play a good game of making it seem they are helping but never actually directly address anything, Very much like a con artist used car salesman or bad politician.
I eventually spoke to a seller who gave me the info I wanted in less than 30 seconds and they were looking it up! I wanted the machine because I am sensitive to dust and if I don't keep it clean enough my nose is plugged all day. I have an occasional allergic reaction to foods or allergens in the air that causes excess production of thick mucous in my sinus, at the back of my throat and in my respiratory tract. When its real bad it makes me vomit.
After I received the machine it seemed fine. The next day I had one of those mucous attacks. For the next 5 days, today is 6 I have had a runny nose when I woke up and am producing a lot of thick mucous from my lungs not my sinus. Last night right after dinner the mucous made me vomit so hard I blew blood vessels in my face!
I started my CPAP and let it run for a couple hours before I went to bed last night. I barely smelled the ozone. Still had the runny nose when I was brushing my teeth and I am producing a lot of thick mucous coming up from my lungs not from my sinus where it usually starts if it is an allergy attack. My nose has stayed clear since I blew it an hour ago but I am still having to forcefully expel the mucous from my airway hard enough that my expectoration has blood in it. I am worried the ozone is harming me.
Two days ago I started researching the effects of ozone. On The American Lung Association website and it has very alarming warnings about ozone exposures. Basically any exposure is bad and long term exposure shortens your life. I do use the machine as instructed. The mask sits in there all day. I sent the American Lung folks an email about the SoClean CPAP cleaner using ozone to ask if it might be harmful but have not yet gotten a reply to it. Apparently Ozone also increases allergic reactions. I washed the hose mask and reservoir with the liquid they send with the machine on the second day.
Before I got it I only had to clean the whole machine once a week to avoid the negative reactions. I cleaned the mask and hose each night letting the machine blow the hose dry before putting the mask on and using it. I'll come back to report when I have any info from American Lung association. Today I will not use the machine and will change the water in the reservoir to see what I feel like tomorrow morning. OH yea I used a brand new hose and mask insert when I hooked up the SoClean the first time. The new mask insiert is already acting funky making the bridge of my nose uncomfortable.

Well it is morning and I feel normal. No urge to clear my airway, nothing abnormal that I haven't had to deal with every day for all the years I have had my CPAP.
So based on my own anecdotal evidence I'd have to say the residual Ozone in my equipment was doing me harm. IDK if its the ozonated water in the humidifier or if it is whatever was in the mask and tube.
I'll be contacting the seller for a return today will post later to inform folks what is up. I expect problems as when I searched "SoClean complaints" what I found was complaints about not being treated properly by customer service when trying to return it.

Yep, we heard about that.
Good luck.

Some are MUCH more sensitive to ozone than others are.

MY main issue with SoClean is their criminally negligent and misleading commercials that steer people away from a lifesaving treatment. If one of those adverts comes on the TV, I will change the channel and not go back. I advocate boycotting any show/channel that plays a SoClean ad.

What I found particularly irratating about the SoClean commercials is how it turned a lot of my friends into CPAP maintenance experts.

I had an extremely difficult time when I started CPAP, turns out I had a severely deviated septum and my nose breathing started to degrade, this continued until my nose-breathing shutdown completely. I have since had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction and can use CPAP problem free again.

Everyone I knew that was aware of my CPAP therapy, advised me that my nose-breathing issue was likely caused by filthy CPAP equipment. Fortunately for me, they knew of this great product that would clean it for me.

I can't recall how many times I had to explain that SoClean would not help.

Those TV and radio ads are so full of flat out lies that I often wish I was a lawyer just so I could sue them for breaking the truth in advertising regulations.
I wouldn't buy one of their damn machines even if it could do the "cleaning" part like it says and I really needed it for some reason.
I would buy something else instead.....like maybe one of the UV sanitizing things.
Every time I see or hear one of their ads I just want to scream "liar, liar, pants on fire".
"Sanitize the air you breathe" my ass.

Cpap.com offers the Lumin UV unit.
The tech has been well-proven in hearing aid maintenance.
This is what I would get if immunity was an issue.
(and probably wash stuff more often.)
Otherwise, I'm just fine.
