Happy Friday, all!

This has been a pretty good week for me - weight staying the same. However, I have exercised 5 of 7 days this week - meaning I got up by 5:10 am those mornings - for me, that's really a miracle, as I hate to get up in the morning! But, to get in my exercise before work, it's what I have to do. Hubby is walking with me as well, which really helps get me going.

For those interested, here's a link to my webpage that talks about what I'm training for - we're raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I've been trying to eat more fruits and veggies - I think that's really going to be key for me. I don't eat a lot of food at my meals, so portion size isn't that bad - just need to change what I'm eating more than anything. My poor 17 year old skinny stepdaughter is unhappy about it - I'm no longer buying ice cream and cookies at the grocery store!! She's the only skinny one in the family, so I told her she'll just have to get those things when she's out with friends - if it's in the house, I will eat it

Hope everyone has had a great week - keep on plugging
Karen

Karen,

Its great to be getting that much exercise. I commend you for getting up at 5:10 am. I don't think I can do that. With all the walking, you are probably replacing some fat loss with Muscle loss so don't get discouraged. Its a noble cause walking for Leukemia and Lymphoma. We are actually adopting a new dog this week, hopefully he will like us. Now there is incentive to get up every and I mean every morning to walk the dog. I should be able to get some good walks in the morning before work. I am happy to report that I have lost another pound this week. I am up to 14pounds. My Sleep doctor (to him its only 10 since September 04) was happy with the weight loss. Though I am trying to figure out why treatment does not feel as effective. I am guessing maybe lack of physical activity. I think that makes a big difference in sleep. In any event, I am going to the DME on Wednesday to be fitted for a new mask. I realized I was never fitted before. Does anyone have any good recommendations for masks that may not leak as much?

Thanks Jim

Most of the week went well. Super Bowl Sunday was dieter's nightmare, but I enjoyed every bite! On the bright side I weighed myself at my friend's house (which I vowed I wouldn't do during this initial start period) and there is about a 9 lb. loss from when I last saw my doctor in December. I felt pretty good about that. Every little bit helps.

And now for your amusement:

The Pasta Diet
How Pasta Can Help You Lose Weight!

1) Walk pasta da bakery.
2) Walk pasta da candy store.
3) Walk pasta da Ice Cream shop.
4) Walk pasta da table and fridge.

Good luck this week..........
