90 percent question

Hi,

just checking data for the last 3 nights
and on one of the nights the 90 percent number
is lower then the average number

has this happened to anyone else. and how can that be

What am I missing here.

It would have had to to go up in pressure quickly for 90% of the time then get higher. It sounds like mine chasing snores and leaks, but mine has always has some lower pressure at the start. Jim

Wolf,

Look at the last page of your Encore Pro report.
What is says is: Average Device Pressure <= 90% of Time

Meaning that you've spent 90% of your sleep time at or below that pressure.
It doesn't mean that you spent 90% of your time at THAT pressure.

Well, wolftracker, strange things occasionally show up in the Encore data. Here's a link to a thread a while back which started out with my questioning an inconsistent 10-minute data gap in the Encore data from the Remstar APAP. A few determined souls tried to explain it for a while, but after others started seeing the same data gaps in their Encore data, and it turned out that Respironics had already fielded questions about this from users, it became obvious that the gap was machine induced.

The most interesting part of the thread though was not the data gap, but data posted by Bob..., where the Encore plot showed that his maximum allowed pressure was lower than any pressures recorded for the entire night. Here's a link to the thread.

Sadly, Bob's chart is not there anymore, but in reading the thread you can get a feel for how shocked folks are that the machine and software occasionally do goofy things. Not worth getting overly concerned about the. The Encore software is still more consistent than the data any of us get from our sleep care providers.
