Any PAPillow users out there?
Any PAPillow users out there?
Hello to all. I joined your ranks about 6 weeks ago. Based on what I’ve read here, so far I’ve been fortunate with my treatment. I adjusted to the nasal pillow quickly, experience few leaks, and definitely feel better than pre treatment.
However, I am most definitely a side sleeper. Currently I use a tiny little pillow on top of my regular pillow to elevate my head to clear the nasal pillow. But I’m looking for improvements.
Has anyone used the pillow shown in this link or similar pillow? Please share your experiences.

Thanks,
John

hi john,
i'm a side sleeper too, and i used to do the same thing with the little pillow till i started getting a sore neck...i switched to the papillow and at first i felt a huge improvement...it definitely helps to avoid moving the interface laterally...but i find it's a little too soft for me and has really squished down
the one that needinz's mentions, on http://www.contourliving.com looks pretty cool and i think it may even be less money...a guy who posts as jqp has that one and he really seems to like it; i wish i'd found this one first, as my previous pillow was more this style and i like the look of this one better
having said that, there are lots of folks on the boards who love the papillow, and like i said, it's certainly been an improvement for me

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got...
I have both pillows mentioned, and I prefer the countour living one.
I do use a FFM, but it shouldn't make a difference.
What I like about the countour living one is that it supports the forhead, where the other one just leaves it dangling.
Only complaint about the CL pillow is that it's a little thin, but put another pillow under it and it's fine and doesn't change the way it works.

John, the pillow you asked about... PAPillow... is the pillow I've been using for the past two years. I love it.
I have the double-edge PAPillow.

I got a Papillow and it didn't work for me. It is too thick and pushes on my jaw. This caused me to have the most excruciating flare up of TMJ pain that I've ever had, and I've had TMJ for years. It's too thick and too firm for me. I got it for my birthday, too .
I just use a slippery down (synthetic) very thin pillow and it works well for me.

Land's End sells a pillow for side sleepers that I use and like quite a bit. I just use the standard one (cheapest) on a king size air bed.

pillows
I use a Mediflow waterbase pillow. It works well with all the masks I've tried, even full face. My Dr recommended it because of neck pain. You fill it with water to the firmness you want, the soft material over the water conforms to the mask. It's about $20 cheaper than the others. You can get it online or at Penney's & Target.
The only thing you have to consider is that it's too heavy to travel with, unless you remove the water. But you can make it as firm or as soft as you desire. It has elimated my neck pain.

I like thick firm pillows do you still have it and are you willing to maybe sell it?RosemaryB wrote:I got a Papillow and it didn't work for me. It is too thick and pushes on my jaw. user evaluations
Look at the PAPillow product reviews in the cpap.com store, where purchasers evaluate what they buy. Look for the evaluations of both sizes, and hey, any other cpap product you are thinking of buying.
