Bump, and I second NeverSleeps suggestion - it would be good to have this as a sticky.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

These link lists Rested Gal has put together are most useful.
You can tell how useful by the number of views they've gotten in a short period of time.
I hope they get a prominent position, even if they are updated from time to time.
Perhaps cpaptalk might consider having an easy-to-use section just for links like these. ...... only a suggestion, from the peanut gallery (and those pesky peeps).

Janie, (I'm guessing this is you, based on this recent topic: viewtopic/t17759/please-help-I-am-so-desperate.html ) I'm sorry that I've not compiled any links on the Respironics "Total Face" mask. I haven't noticed topics about it to link to. I don't think it would be a good mask at all for you to try to use, but that's just my opinion... I've never tried that one. That mask has a LOT of perimeter area to try to seal...lots of places that could leak.Guest wrote:thank you..do you have anything like this for respironics total face mask or fisher plynel 406 flexfit?
Also total face mask or things to help mouth breathers?
The Fisher & Paykel FlexiFit 406 is a nasal mask (covers the nose). In your other topic you mentioned your problem with mouth breathing. The 406 would not help with that, nor would any nasal or nasal pillows mask. I think you'd do better to look for a full face mask, but not the "Total Face" mask.
Full Face masks will cover nose and mouth, so that you can breathe either way -- through the nose or through the mouth.
If I were you, I'd ask your equipment provider to let you try these full face masks, in any order:
ResMed Ultra Mirage FF
Fisher & Paykel HC 431 FF
Respironics ComfortFull 2 FF
Somnotech Soyala FF
Hybrid FF by Teleflex Medical/Hudson RC
I've heard that ResMed will be coming out (when, I don't know) with a new full face mask. That might be worth waiting on, or trying later.
Best of luck, Janie. Sorry to read in the other topic about the difficulties you've had. It really can get better. I hope your equipment provider will help you try those full face masks.
The total face mask is usually only used in extreme circumstances like when people have air leaking from their tear ducts. If you're not experiencing any of those problems, just mouth breathing, a full face mask will be much more comfortable.rested gal wrote:I'm sorry that I've not compiled any links on the Respironics "Total Face" mask.
