how do you change pressure settings on the HC234?

I've searched and found a couple of threads, but none really explain (at least the ones that I found).

Thanks .. jcarn

It turns out my info (I have a F&P HC221LE) doesn't apply to the newer HC234.

On the 221LE there is a small trapdoor on the right side. When opened there is a black spindle that can be rotated to change the cms.

The 234 appears to have moved it or switched to a different type of cms setting control.

Cheers

DSM

HC234 Changing pressure

I really do not recommend changing pressures on a xPAP without consulting your sleep doctor. By changing pressures yourself, you may be causing more harm then good. Though do as you wish, who am I to tell you what to do, it's your health/life.

no big deal .. many of us are handling our own therapy. I have consulted my doctor and he has prescribed an APAP with some different settings.

The HC234 is my backup machine so I want to reflect the pressure changes to it as well. I really dont feel like calling my DME for something simple like a pressure change .. but it looks like this is my only option.

F7P HC234 setting change

Post by NOLONGERTIRED » Sat Feb 11, 2006 9:24 pm

Here it goes... You enter programming mode by holding down the "RAMP" (top) button and the "Next" (Right arrow/bottom button) for three seconds. When you get into the pressure set mode you will first be able to set adjust altitude, which is indicated by a drawing of a mountain range on your screen. You can change or ignore this setting and then push the "NEXT" (Right arrow/bottom button) to advance to pressure setting which will be indicated by the characters "cm h20 " on the screen. Lastly, push that bottom button again to exit programming mode. I hope this helps!

How do your turn the lock off on the HC221LE CPAP machine? And set the pressure?

Thanks

Zandar

Resetting the CPAP pressure setting

Resetting your machine should always be under the direction of a physician. When it is under their direction it would be nice to know how to set the machine.
Thank you for the help to reset the pressure setting on my CPAP Fisher&Paykel model 234. I had a doctors prescription and the technician just wanted to sell me a new machine. I already owned this unit and did not want to spend $1800 for a different one. She was not happy I did not buy a new machine and even though she was familiar with my machine she gave no advice or direction other than to find a technician on my own. I had a sleep study and knew that the setting should be 6 cmH2O. (the machine was set at 7) The process of holding the ramp and next keys down for 3 seconds mentioned on this thread to put you in program mode worked great and I now have a CPAP machine that is properly adjusted.
Thanks again,
MalAdjusted

Here's a thread about the Fisher & Paykel HC 220LE (not the 221LE) but maybe it will help with your machine, too:

Holding the ramp and right arrow worked like a charm for my sleep style 200. Then you just scroll through the options with the right arrow key! Thanks, saved me time and money!
