seeking info re masks used with Remstar BiPap Pro

Post by dsm » Mon Jan 30, 2006 4:41 am

Hi, If anyone has a Remstar BiPap Pro can you tell me what masks you have used with it and what cms settings.

I read a comment somewhere (but can't find it now) where someone with one of these units said that he had to give up his full face mask when he switched to the BiPap.

Reason I am asking is that the only way I can get my BiPap Pro 2 (BiFlex) machine is to use a breeze nasal pillow mask. If I try a ResMed Ultra Mirage f/f mask the AutoTrak seems to switch epap to ipap incorrectly. Same happens with an activa nasal mask. I had expected the AutoTrak to adjust for the high fixed leak rate of the ResMed masks. Interestingly, if I simply breath into the 6ft tube, the ipap/epap cyle also works as normal.

With the Breeze pillows, every function works spot on (flex on flex off, rise time settings etc:). It has a very low fixed leak rate compared to the ResMed masks. I am running this machine with similar settings to my PB330. (IPAP 15, EPAP 8, Risetime 2).

I don't have a clinical manual but if anyone has a PDF copy I would greatly appreciate a copy.

Cheers

DSM

I use in order of my favorites, and have not noticed any problems.

1. Nasal Aire II
2. Respironics Full Face
3. Comfort Curve
4. ComfortGel Lite
5. Swift
6. Breeze Nasal

My pressure is set at 13/9 and I average a little over 8 hrs a night on it. Works for me.

Many thanks,

This suggests to me that the leak detection in this unit may have a
problem. It had got water in it and some water went up the airflow sensor lines. I had hoped it had cleared, I may need to do a bit more work on it.

Cheers
