even the heated ones aren't terrible. but, yes, you're right, 40-50$ is a good bit larger chunk of change.archangle wrote:Not ResMed or Respiornics heated hoses.palerider wrote:alternatively, hoses are cheap.. (10$ish)

I have 3 or 4 of the Resmed ones and they were $85 + tax here in Canada. Not ResMed or Respiornics heated hoses.
Come to think of it, I have never noticed what tax is paid on medical supplies but bear in mind our tax is generally 13% up here.
Makes items cost a lot more but something has to pay for our free health care
Anyhow, have 3 or 4 but find they are no different for me in the long run then a regular $10 hose.
Even in the winter here but then Toronto doesn't get that cold. Perhaps in Calgary or Aspen, etc, i might use them but so far I haven't really discovered them to be any different.
I will have to look up one of the american sites and see what they charge you for them. Generally speaking of course.

Re: Drying out the ResMed Climate Control Tubing or any tubing
It is the heat of the summer here in Coastal Washington, but we are having more humidity than normal. I just had to make a hose cozy for the short hose on my nasal pillow mask. I was getting bad rainout, though the heated, long hose would still be dry in the morning.
I wash out my long hose a couple times a week. I hang it to dry, and as long as I can't shake out water when I head to bed I just put it together, and let the heat dry it out. I'm finding that I'm using very little water in my humidifier with the high ambient humidity anyway.
