Since I don't recall you saying your cat had died, how was PR supposed to know before he wrote what he did? I am truly sorry by the way and knowing what I now know, i wish I hadn't posted in the thread. But none of us are mind readers.

PS - EMS might have missed your post about your cat dying as an FYI.

Re: Basic posting rules of this group?
It's not about the cat, or wasn't meant to be, but the post he referred to in this thread (have you seen it?) was not only at my expense, but followed another spate of nasty stuff 10 days ago and seems to have started all over again. The cat was just coincidental and I hadn't said anything here, but it bugged me tonight. He knew the cat died because I PM'd him after seeing the other note.

Re: Basic posting rules of this group?
Thanks for clarifying as that sheds a whole new light on the situation. I saw the cat post which unfortunately I contributed to but just deleted.Julie wrote:It's not about the cat, or wasn't meant to be, but the post he referred to in this thread (have you seen it?) was not only at my expense, but followed another spate of 100% uncalled for nasty stuff 10 days ago that was straight out of the blue - as if he'd picked my name out of a hat to attack, through a long thread on ... who knows now... but it was absolutely gratuitous and he seems to have started all over again. Why, and why me, I can't fathom, but the cat was just coincidental so I mentioned him. I wish I knew what his problem is!
I didn't see it as an attack but in light of you saying some nasty stuff had occurred 10 days ago with PR, I now can see why you view things the way you do. I am so sorry you have had to deal with that.
Come on folks, let's cut out the attacks and get back to doing what we do best, which is to help other posters deal with adjusting to pap therapy.

Re: Basic posting rules of this group?
To the original poster that started this thread, my advice would be to do as I do, at the sign of even one insult, if not towards you but you see it towards others, just block that person.
That way you don't need to bother yourself with them.
People block people here if they don't like their advice, or think their posts are just "noise" and other reasons such as just not liking u for one reason or another so just do the same.
I have one troll I have blocked that seems to post after me quite often.
I don't know what he says or even care but all you will see is a small box that tells you that so and so has just posted but you can't see what they say.
I think you can if you click on it?
I personally don't bother to unblock as it would defeat the whole reason for a block.
The couple i have blocked are trolls and regularly are rude to others so just follow suit and block and you don't need to deal with their idiocy.
(they don't know you have blocked them although i suppose if they continue to insult you and u don't respond, one would assume the person might be smart enough to figure it out......but the ones that keep following you around might not be so smart or just showing off for others might be a guess )
I personally have been in many forums and only one other time, another sleep apnea forum have I seen the regularity of rudeness i see online in these.
Usually boards are moderated and people either know better or get zapped when they continue.
My guess is the rude ones are future walking heart attacks with a few anger issues.
You don't need them, so just block 'em....
Anyone that feels the need to insult others on a regular basis, certainly has some issues and life likely hasn't been too good to them and they are bitter.
You don't need people like that in your life. They are toxic. Just get rid of them

Yeah, but you can't block what goes on the forum... nevermind, over and done with... let's get back to business.

Sure you can, if I follow what you mean.Yeah, but you can't block what goes on the forum... nevermind, over and done with... let's get back to business.
You can't block a thread if a blocked poster starts on IF that is what you mean but you wouldn't want to read their thread anyhow so not sure why that would be a problem.
So guessing u must mean something else

49er is correct. (Thanks 49er) I had no idea that your cat died. It's hard to lose a pet that you loved and took care of. I truly am sorry.
Well, at least now I have a clue what's been going on. Some of the posts were so strange and made no sense. They do now.

Re: Basic posting rules of this group?
I've only read about half of these responses. I just want to say ... I came here looking for help and am so thankful there were knowledgeable people here to answer my questions. Sure, there were some who did seem a bit rude but I took that with a grain of salt. I got some good and needed guidance from this forum. It doesn't take long to know who really wants to help you and those people are here, thankfully! If not for this forum I would probably be using a brick rather than my nice, new S9 autoset! I wouldn't have known how to ask for an autoset or what it even was! I am able to use software that lets me see how I am sleeping and was even helped once by the developer himself on this forum. When I did find a DME to get my S9 autoset through, I was helped to know that I should not pay that extra $292 he wanted to charge me and I was advised to again find another DME, which I did. I am so thankful for the help I have received here! I have been told exactly what to ask my physician to write on the prescription and also exactly what I should have to pay using my insurance. I've saved money by coming here! I could go on, and probably have a bit too much already. I will just say again, thank you to all of those who use your time to help newbies like me!
