Need help adjusting to CPAP
Re: Need help adjusting to CPAP
Try and get your nose clear with nasal rinsing and then try a nasal pillow set up. The claustrophobia killed me for a few weeks until I figured it out. I use one NeilMed or other saline packet and one tablespoon of Alkolol in 8 ozs distilled water at room temp, half up each nostril. Started 3 times per day, now down to twice a day - morning and early evening (at least 3 hours before sleep). Cortico steroid spray like Flonase every morning. Just got a Waterpik with Sinus adapter to replace my Sinugator (which will become my travel irrigation tool) and it rocks. But the basic Neilmed squeeze bottle is pretty good and blows neti pots away for ease and effectiveness.

Re: Need help adjusting to CPAP
Thank you for the suggestions, I actually have both a NeilMed Neti pot and a Squeeze bottle and I use them maybe once a week. I could try it more often, though to be honest I do not think my issue is nasal congestion.
I wish I could try your suggestion of using a nasal pillow mask, but my DME specialist is not keen on you "trying" masks (see my other posts about this BS), plus I tried to ask her about Sleepyhead and using cpaptalk.com as a support group and you should have seen the look of pure derision on her face. As if I was an idiot for even trying to keep myself informed about my therapy.
I have a call out to my therapist to change DME's.
