So glad things are looking up - they probably are working extra hard to get Mike home so they don't have to worry about doing things right for him.

Exactly my thoughts! Dori, they can't WAIT to get rid of YOU!

I'm sure you can take much better care of Mike at home, the problem is, who will take care of YOU??? Don't overdo--accept any and all help.

Wish I had better news. Mike was rehospitalized Tues with some sort of seizure (they think). I couldn't wake him up so I had to call 911. He was somewhat semi-awake yesterday but made a complete turnaround today and seems fine so they're going to do one more 24-hr test tomorrow like a holter monitor of the brain where he'll wear a monitor strapped around his head which might show something. All the Cat scans, nuclear tests, etc showed nothing and all his vitals and blood tests were normal. If this test proves nothing they're going to send him back to rehab just for a week or two(at my children's request) so I can recuperate a bit before I have to make some hard decisions. I promised them I would give up a little of my micro=management of his care until we decide the next step to take before he has another episode. His quality of life has deteriorated immensely and our Dr and all the specialists agree that the cpap at this time is a hinderance rather than giving him any meaningful therapy and they're worried about wearing his mask should he have another event. At this time I think all we're looking for is a peaceful solution although we're going to need some family meetings to come to a conclusion we all can live with. Our best hope is that he won't have another episode and he maintains the status quo that I saw today. That's something I can manage at home with help. Mike is a fighter and might fool us all! Sorry to be so somber but I feel you're all my friends that I can share with.

Dori... I always check to see if there is a post from you. Many warm hugs for you both to get though this terribly difficult time.

Dori - your natural instincts come from a beautiful place and so you will naturally do the right thing and should have the last word. You're still in charge - just make some time to take care of yourself too though, as you'll help Mike best that way. We love you!

Dori,

My heart goes out to you, I'm so sorry Mike's health has taken this unfortunate turn. Do as your kids want & rest up. Like you said, Mike is a fighter, so hopefully his health will get better. Whatever happens, remember your friends here love you & are praying for you both. Once you get that much needed rest you can hopefully get him home again.

Know that many prayers are coming your way.

Jen

So sorry for your new difficulties, I was afraid things weren't going well or you would be posting. Thanks for the update, and prayers going out for you and Mike.
