Klonopin (benzos for insomnia)

Post by Ruinednose » Sun Dec 22, 2013 5:59 pm

I find the .5mg Klonopin my doctor gave me for insomnia is great.
Its low dose and you take it 15 mins before sleep.
You wake up slight hungover, but u get deep sleep and comfort relaxation and 0 anxiety

ANyone else use sleep aids?
IF so what is your experience with them, prefferably something light weight and not very addictive.

My experience with benzos is that I wouldn't touch them with a 20 foot barge pole. Klonopin is in the running for most addictive drug in existence.
Take care and proceed with caution.

That's exactly right. If you need them... fine, but do so cautiously. It's far too easy to become seriously addicted.

I was given Klonopin for RLS about 20 years ago. I got off it because of its reputation.
I find Doxepin works as well without addiction potential... only problem is dry mouth.

My husband was prescribed Ambien(generic) which he used for about 3months getting started and was able to discontinue with no problems once he started sleeping better. Occasionally if he has a hard time falling asleep for whatever reason I give him half a 10mg pill(5mg) but not too often. It's a better option than benzos.

I think you complained about erectile dysfunction in another thread. Klonopin is often associated with ED.

When you stop, you might not sleep at all...

what should i do. im on my 4th day on it.
sometimes i take just half a pill and fall asleep and stay asleep.
The doctor said that its least addictive benzo and that i should take it only as needed when i have nights of insomnia.

What other stuff should i do?
i find Kpin also helps with my general anxiety throughout the day, however i dont like the slight drowsiness.
and my penis is simply not working and hasnt for months, prob due to sleep/low t

I was on that for a bad diagnoses. It messed me up for 6 weeks. Doctors give it out like candy. I was out on Xanax as well all to find out I had low blood pressure. Benzos are the devil stay away.

Take melatonin instead it's safe and works just as good with no mind games or addiction. Melatonin is a hormone already in your body.

Any pharmacist can help with MG I take 5 mg. My father in law just had triple bypass he takes 20mg. But even cardiologist said Melatonin is better than any other sleep aid.

Melatonin works well for some people. Definitely worth trying before taking anything stronger. I read somewhere to take a low dose when you initially start taking it. I know a few people who take 3mgs before bed and half of that if you wake in the middle of the night. If it works for you, that would be great... one of the safest "drugs" on the market.
