RESMED S9 need another way to power it? camping

Post by albeham » Fri Apr 12, 2013 12:27 pm

Hello all,
I run a RESMED S9 while I am camping. I use an UPS that is slaved to another large battery pack, then I plug in the AC to DC cord and there I go, I got air.

But here is the deal. I am going to the National JAMBOREE in July and this setup is a bunch of weight.

I am looking for a DC to DC cord for the S9 and better yet a 12 volt CPAP machine I can run off of a few 12 volt batteries. I'll have a solar panel etc.

The cost for this stuff new is costly. for 450 I can get a battery system built for the S9, or pay 89 for the DC to DC cord, or around 100 for a 12 volt system.
Money is just a little tight, and being a Ham operator I plan to build.

I would like to hear for others on what they did for this type of setup, etc.

One of these comes in real handy. I use this along with my 100 APH Battery here at home for hurricanes and power outages. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/DC-Con ... hines.html

I use this battery.

I will run my S9 for 2 to 3 nights using a 150 watt inverter.
I think it will run my Intellipap for 4 nights.
