Turned over resumed elite humidifier

Post by Cavmdc » Sat Mar 16, 2013 9:20 pm

So, my resumed 9 Elite pulled off the shelf and turned over while using it. Of course the water went everywhere.

I drained the hose, and emptied the humidifier compt. Anything else that I should do ?

I want to make sure there is no damage.

Greg

The big issues is whether any water went inside. It must be totally dry before you even think of turning it on.

Unplug the machine if you haven't already, and wait. If water made it to the hose, you should assume the electronics got wet. I'm not sure how long it would take to dry everything out.

Oh, you could help it dry faster by using a mild heat source, a heating pad on low, for instance. You could also blow air through it, but a DC motor will act as a generator if you spin it, so you need to be careful.
