What do you do with long hair and CPAP?
Re: What do you do with long hair and CPAP?
I had the same problem. I recently switched to the Swift FX Bella Resmed mask, and it's all better now.

I see the buff is supposed to wick away perspiration.
Anybody know how well?

I get hot very easily and the buff works well for me. Just make sure you buy the version with coolmax, they have several models.

I am a guy, dont have the hair problem but i found that if you cut the sleeve off an old t shirt and put that on your head prevents the straps from cutting in on your face and hair out of the straps. Hope that helps.

We can cut up a lot of stuff;
I bought a clearance pair of tights just to have the stretchy fabric for cpap accessories.

I'm in the process of growing my hair from a very short style. I'll have to go with a ponytail, because of overheating and sweating. I have central air conditioning and am often accused of keeping the house like a meat locker. I sleep with very light covers. There are other causes for overheating. Some people have hormonal imbalance. I have several medications which have overheating as a side effect.
I'm going to try the ponytail tonight, hoping my hair has grown enough to gather into a tail, lol.

What about a plain old-fashioned hair net? I used to have to wear those when I worked as a short-order cook right after college while looking for the job I had trained for.

I use the Bella loops, but I also have curly hair. I use the hair caps that you can get at sally beauty for 3 dollars with the silk or cotton. Means I wake up with curls not frizz. When it's nights when I go back to the regular swift FX headgear or the Airfit P10 to give my ears a break I make sure to use those. Another thing I have done is French braid my hair and even in the process weave the headgear into the braid so it doesn't move.

I would love to see pics of that! Sounds awesome! I don't need to anymore, but it might be something to consider in future should I grow it back outSleepyStar wrote: Another thing I have done is French braid my hair and even in the process weave the headgear into the braid so it doesn't move.

Re: What do you do with long hair and CPAP?
I put my hair into a ponytail to put the mask on, then take it out to sleep so I can put it above my head on the pillow. I can't put the ponytail high enough to get it out of the way to sleep on my back and still have the mask straps fit. I usually go to bed with wet hair and find the initial mask fit to be better that way. I was surprised the straps don't dent my hair weird. Best wishes.
