Ok, I work at a sleep lab and DME and the code has nothing to do with either provider. Per Tom, at Respironics in clinical support-he told me that the code basically verifies the compliance information you provide the DME to create a compliance report is correct. If you provide the wrong info or are missing a number the code will alert them that what you provided to them was incorrect. The number will change for each report and has nothing to do with the number of days used.

I don't work in a sleep lab but I have a background in computer science and check codes are used to verify data accuracy. It's an authentication method to make sure someone isn't making up the numbers, or the data is corrupt (due to system error, power failure, etc).
