Being from Nebraska, I am fully aware of the steering wheel thing; which also applies to door handles,
leather seats, and random smooth, but not always metallic surfaces.
Burn ointment is often carried in a holster--and kept in the shade.

Its amazing how well you can steer a car with minimal hand/finger contact on the wheel

I am proud of our killer wildlife, keeps the tourists running scared.
Cooked down axlegrease is a delicious spread, I practically grew up on Vegemite sangas (sandwhiches).
You know what it's like to swallow a fly, on occasion via your nose. Yep, nothing worse when you are roaring down the highway at max speed.
I am guilty of shortening someones name if I like them, and I've called a friend a bastard.

You can translate: "Dazza and Shazza played Acca Dacca on the way to Maccas." Yes I can, but I'm not going to tell until someone has a guess.

I had an English roommate for a while that liked Vegemite and fried bread *smile*. Tried both, and decided it must be cultural. And I was an avid motorcyclist some time ago, so I've eaten my share of bugs. Not specifically flies, hard to tell what was what with all that squishy stuff coming at you. Looked up Dazza and Shazza, etc., and that's a cute one. I don't think that I would ever have guessed what that meant without looking it up...

Thanks for the Australian laughs!

I'm impressed Pale and Roger! (note the shortening of your names )

Okay translation for all who can't be bothered googling. Sharon and Darren played AC/DC on the way to McDonalds AC/DC is a rock band. One of thier songs appeared on Planes Fire and Rescue- "Thunderstruck"

Never had fried bread, unless you call french toast fried bread. There is a theory that Aussies don't open their mouths fully to speak because a ton of flies will set up camp in your mouth.

Good one mgaggie. I enjoyed reading it.

That and this,

reminded me of,

"In the world, a Yankee is an American.
In America, a Yankee is a Northerner.
In the North, a Yankee is an Easterner.
In the East, a Yankee is a New Englander.
In New England, a Yankee is a Vermonter.
In Vermont, a Yankee is a man from Essex County.
In Essex County, a Yankee is a man from Avery's Gore.
In Avery's Gore, a Yankee is a man who butters his toast on both sides."

I'm honored *bows*

I was going to say that altering ac/dc to acca dacca seems to go against the whole aussie (and brit) shortening thing, but I suppose it's the same number of syllables

Thanks chicago.

Pale, I think with us Aussies, if we can't shorten a name etc we'll try to change it somehow.

A recent study has found that women with a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it.
