Hubby frequently sleeps on his side facing me and the air from the vent blows in my face or the back of my head. Do they make any kind of adapter that would direct that air up toward the top of his head so I can sleep too?
It means you are sleeping beside a live one and not a zombie.

Have you tried a band aid over the vent?
Not tightly stuck over the vent. Make a little hill over the vent area with the gauze part so it won't stick to it and block it.
Then as the air exits the vent its directed straight up and down and not out in front towards your partner.

Rule no 1
You must not block or impede the vent otherwise you may end up re breathing your own air.
That said on my Swift FX mask I've been able to loosely tape a small piece of very porous filter material (From an air conditioner filter, although some others are using inlet filter material which is a lot finer) over the vent holes. This completely eliminates the air blast.
This may not be physically possible in your case but its worth a go.

I'm surprised this doesn't do two things:
1. Impede air flow significantly
2. Make a lot more noise

I was thinking of making a deflector out of some filter material. I wouldn't put the filter directly on the vent holes, but make a gap between the vent holes and the material.

DO NOT cover the vent...the vent is set to expell the carbon Dioxide.....if it is partially covered too much CO2 will stay in your mask and you will inhale it.

The filter is very open you can easily see light through it and there is a gap under the filter so air could move sideways.
It doesn't make any noise at all.

Pillow wall is the solution for wifey and me.

I was never able to sleep on my side facing the wifey before CPAP because of shortness of breath.

I love being able to sleep on the "new" side, on my back.... it is like a whole new sleeping life!

I havnt had that problem yet. I tend to sleep on my back or the right side which is ok as she sleeps on the left side of the bed. Can you warm your air a little?

I actually use it to my advantage. My vent blows upward from the top of the mask. If my husband is snoring, I point the vent at him and he rolls over.
I never would have made it without this forum.

Bevgo wrote:Sounds simple but he does turn over during the night or I would switch sides. I have resorted to covering his face with a quilt or covering the back of my head with the quilt. I was just wondering if they made something to direct the air away from me--selfish I know--LOL. I will check with the DME company and see what they say. They are just way too expensive at times. The pillow sounds worth a try though.
You have lots of good ideas so far but if we knew exactly which make/model the mask is you may get even more ideas.

Do let us know what kind of things the DME suggests.

IF you are really married to Amos I will send you flowers.

He is always in chat trying to pick up loose women.

And to solve the air problem you should make him sleep on the couch. Tell him he can't come back into the bed until the Braves win the World Series. Problem solved
