I got a brand new S9 Elite and H5i 8 days ago from my DME. I have 60 hours on it and have not noticed any clicking sound you describe.

Just took delivery of a brand-new S9 AutoSet, plus H5i and climateline tubing. My unit clicks. I found this thread while looking to see if anybody else noticed it.

It doesn't bother me, but I wondered if it was normal.

I have the same unit on my VPAP and it makes no noise. I got it in June 11. I keep mine on the floor on a chopping board but I have often thought about dust. Keeping it on the floor make the chances of a rainout less. There is a filter after all.I am also in Australia and I have found that the customer service is not as good as it could be. I think they have made a conscious decision not to be bothered.

I've had mine for a week and it makes the clicking noise. What I have found out is:

1) The noise only goes away if I detach the humidifier OR I disconnect the power.
2) The noise happens about every 10 seconds or so.
3) I get 2 consecutive clicks every 10 seconds or so if I have the clima-hose attached.
4) I get 1 click every 10 seconds or so if the clima-hose is NOT attached.

To be clear, the clicks are not very loud - you have to be listening for them or you may not notice.

The only clicks I hear are when the pressure is ramping up. Seems there is a very quiet click each time the pressure changes. Once it reaches my set pressure for the night, it stops the clicks.

I don't really hear it clicking when I am actually using it as the noise of the air exiting the vent holes from my full face mask is likely drowning out the clicking noises.

I hear the clicks when the unit is turned off but still plugged into the wall socket.

I just got a brand new resmed humidifier. First night worked great. Second night I was awakened by a LOUD, fast, persistent ticking (about 2 clicks per second) -- at first I thought my 4 year old was tapping on my mask, it was that loud. Had to turn off the unit and snore the rest of the night. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mine ticks slightly when cooling down during the period when a very slight air volume is blown into the hose to rid if of any possible moisture. Don't notice the ticking any other time.

Mine might click but I wouldn't know it as I have a small fan,( facing away from me now that it's colder outside) for
white noise.

I have had 2 humidifiers replaced because of the clicking noise. It did not bother me as much as it did my wife. On the third one they lowered my pressure and now it does not do it anymore

Our Autosets are quiet. Likewise the humidifiers
More noise comes from the Germ Guardian in the bedroom.
(the one that looks sort of like a steel hourglass)
It is said to be very noisy; but we don't sleep with our hearing aids. . .
The GG is a good white noise generator.

OP - I had this unit for just over a year - no problems. Then two nights ago - this issue - exactly the same - started. On top of apnea, I have always had severe difficulty sleeping - so this is really irritating. No point in using the unit if I'm not going to fall asleep while this ticking is going on....
