Acurest is pleased to announce that our TrueFIT Custom CPAP Mask is now available in the USA!
(We have posted about this before, but that was back when you needed to come for a trip Down Under to get one).
Acurest has been making custom-made nasal CPAP masks in Australia since 2001. Since then, the TrueFIT Custom Mask has become the proven therapy choice for many Aussie CPAPers.
We have recently found a prosthetics company in the USA (Medical Art Prosthetics) who can take the highly detailed mold of the face that we need to make our mask. Now our US clients only need to travel to Dallas TX or Madison WI for their molding, rather than a trip all the way down under!
During our initial trials in the USA, we have even had insurance companies agree to meet the cost. Given the three year normal life of the TrueFIT mask, the value is certainly there for insurers. With our mask, there are no spare parts to buy so there is no ongoing cost.
As we piloted this approach in the USA we have had great results and great client feedback - we will ask a US client or two to join this thread to tell you first-hand. You will be amazed.
It is a relatively easy thing to make claims about how well a mask fits and seals, how quiet it is, etc. But it is another thing altogether to make a mask that actually delivers on that promise. And a even rarer thing again for a manufacturer to guarantee comfort and seal effectiveness - a guarantee we make happily because we know how well our masks work from our years of experience making them.
Many of you have experienced the discomfort of standard masks. It makes no sense that hearing aids, dentures and orthotics are custom made while CPAP masks are not. It's crazy. And the one-size-fits-all approach doesn't give patients the best chance of long term success with what can be a very difficult treatment. The TrueFIT Custom mask simply takes discomfort out of the compliance equation.
Please take a look at our website (http://www.acurest.com.au) for more information.

Very interesting. However I do not see a NA Toll Free#. Nor do I see any type of money back guaranty. What happens if this $1450.00 mask does not work? I ( and many others) already have a closet full of masks that do not work. But at least they are not over $1000.00. I wonder if any insurance company will pay more for the mask than the CPAP machine!

website works good on IE8... but no toll free #. I'm not willing to part with that kind of money though.
