Recliner sleeping

Post by newyorknative » Fri Jul 02, 2010 6:49 am

I was just wondering how many of you sleep part time to full time in recliners. I have a second cpap next to my new lazy boy.

I don't sleep in my lazyboy, but might accidently fall asleep (nap) while watching TV in it.

I find that I have a little less congestion when sleeping in a recliner.

I have a recliner but have never figured out how one can fall asleep in one. Even extended out I don't find it a comfortable position that would entice me to fall asleep.

One of my back-up machines sits next mto my recliner with my last mask attached. I don't "sleep" in my recliner (well one time when I was sick) but I do nap / fall asleep watching TV and use the machine when I do.

My favorite sport is to snooze in the recliner on weekend afternoons in front of a movie on the t.v. But CPAP has ruined my "fun" because I have a teenager who would be mortified if a friend came over and saw me masked up in the t.v. room, and I'm miserable if I fall asleep there without my CPAP. So now I have to do my weekend naps in my room

The only silver lining is that I'm less likely to NEED a nap on weekend days, though I still enjoy it if I've been busy and working hard the rest of the day.

When I'm sick and congested, that's my favorite place to sleep at night because I can keep my head elevated. But I can't turn and relieve pressure so it gets old quickly.

When I worked as a health care professional in home health I had the occasional patient who could only sleep in a recliner. I don't want to get to that point in my life!

If I nap during the day it's hard for me to sleep at night.

I love falling asleep watching TV wether on a recliner or the couch. But I have 4 teen agers and they are way to noisy and I never seem to be able to take a nap in my bed.

I would put my mask on and fall asleep just so I could make my kids friends mortified

Me too.

At one time I had made a toilet roll cover to sit over a plunger for the bathroom. The design was a topless Minoan priestess holding snakes. When ever my daughter had friends over she would make it a toilet paper bra.

My hubby does a great job of sleeping in the recliner (and he has no sleeping disorders). To me that looks very uncomfortable.

If I am very tired, and happen to be watching tv, I may fall asleep in the recliner. Then wake up very disoriented and have to drag myself off to the bed and my friend the cpap!
